  1. Do either of you mind letting me know what your GPA and KAPLAN score was upon entering? I am just curious if I even have a chance.
  2. Does anyone know if your site has been scheduled for a site visit from the NLNAC accreditation board? That is my biggest concern, if they are not NLNAC accredited then it will be very hard to find a job.
  3. Thank you! I am being very careful about my decision. I have not signed any papers or anything. When I went in and talked to them a few months ago, I came in prepared with questions and would not accept half answers. I will not even go any further than talking until I can get a date for their site visit from the accreditation board and be able to verify that they passed it. Their first graduation class is supposed to be in March, I think. I am also requesting the number of people that passed the N-CLEX and how many sat for it. If they cannot provide that information, then there is no need for me to talk to them. I just wanted feedback from current students.
  4. Thank you for your response. The schedule and the way the curriculum set up are the main things that are attracting me. I do realize it will not be easy to complete any nursing program. I have been trying to get into a program for over a year now, without any luck or even getting on a wait list. I have researched it, but I keep getting promised by the staff that they are working on complete accreditation. The Breckinridge program does their clinicals at the hospital I work for. That seems like a small glimmer of hope that they will be able to get accredited bc not just any program can do clinicals in the hospitals. I cannot ask the students while I am at work bc I am afraid I may not get a true response due to them being in class and their professor overhearing. The only schools I may be able to get into are going to be private or a for profit school. So, the tuition is going to cost about the same and maybe even less. The local Breckinridge is providing a BSN program also. So, that is another reason I am looking into them.
  5. I am debating on attending Breckinridge School of Nursing. My heart keeps telling me to go there but my mind keeps telling me that they are not accredited by the NLNAC. Has any of the Nashville students seen them taking steps to get this accreditation? Do you know if they have had a site visit? When is the first graduating class of the nursing program? And I am aware that accreditation does matter bc I had a co-worker to graduate from a program that was in the process of getting accredited and our hospital would not hire her until they were accredited. Thank you for any information and not just bashing the school.
  6. I am debating on going to Breckinridge School of Nursing. But the main thing that keeps weighing heavy on my mind is if they will get fully accredited from the NLNAC. Has any of the current students in the Nashville program seen them making any steps towards this? Is their site visit scheduled that you know of? Have their been any of the Breckinridge schools to get this accreditation? My mind keeps telling me to go here, but that keeps haunting me. I do not want to spend all of that money and not be able to find a job afterwards. I had a friend of mine that graduated from a school that was in the process of getting accredited and then she could not get hired by our hospital.
  7. No letter for me, but my 3 study buddies did.
  8. I looked at the blog from last years applicants. They did not start getting their letters until final grades for this semester were posted. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Some people were getting their letters in early June, I think they may have been on the wait liast and were notified after others had notified that they will not be attending.
  9. I just checked my mailbox and it is empty.
  10. I refuse to give up, that is not a true nurse's way. Thank you for the words of encouragement.
  11. I applied to Motlow and to Columbia, did not get in to either. If I do not get in at NSCC, I will work all summer on an online class to get an A in A&P I (I got a B the first time) and a 24 on the ACT in June (I got a 23). Hopefully, after all of that, I will be able to get in at Columbia for the Spring. I was upset about being declined for the other programs, but I will need a semester off if I end up going to summer school, BLAAACH!!! But it is what might need to be done. If not, I think I will continue to work towards my Bachelors. Many of my classmates have said that they will work towards an LPN, then bridge to an RN. How do you guys feel about that?
  12. I took A&P II and Sociology. I figured with Sociology, if I do not get in this time, I will start working towards my Bachelors degree. I signed up for English II and Aging Psychology (something like that). Everyone that I knew and did not get picked for the first round, they were missing only 1-2 classes of pre-req's.
  13. I am not sure how true this is, but I just got a text message that letters are going out this week. I hope all of us get one. Congratulations on even making it this far, it is truly a big deal.
  14. Correct, I felt that asking only three questions in a room with 4 other applicants was not a great interview process. If you get asked a question first, the other applicants have a chance to listen to your answer and build on it. Also, I wish there were more questions asked. I even asked them to ask me more questions, in order to get to know me better.
  15. I did my interview on 4/24/ I am not impressed with the interview process. I hope each of you get an interview and do well. Even if you do not, congrats on making it this far.
