Motlow State 2013 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, would anyone like to start a thread on getting into Motlow State's Nursing program this fall? I wish everyone luck.

Also how long did it take most of your documents to no longer say pending? Its making me nervous!!!

It depends. Sometimes they say completed the same day but sometimes it takes them a couple of days to show up as completed. Thanks for the info on the insurance! I registered my account on NSO but there is still no policy or certificate up. If I don't get it tomorrow I am going to call and see what is going on. That is the only document I have left to submit!

Well I had to call NSO today and even though they say you will get confirmation the next business day it will be a week tomorrow that I applied and still have no confirmation. After sitting on the phone for 30 minutes this morning they told me there was a problem with the system the day I applied and I basically have to call back tomorrow and do the exact same thing to see if my payment has went through and if not I will have to send in another application. My advise, get your from the other place that she recommended. Not worth the BS to go through NSO.

I wear Dansko's. I wear them while I'm working as a surgical tech. They are the most comfortable shoes when you stand on your feet all day! I tried on a pair and then had to order the solid white ones on zappos since they didn't have them at the store. That's also what the director recommended when we were at orientation. They are expensive but worth every penny to save your back and your feet.

I'm so sorry I'm just responding! I've been super busy (got a 2nd job) to help pay defray the cost of books & everything else! This 2nd job will be my part-time job when I'm in school. I'll be quitting my regular, steady full-time job on August 18th, and that us a scary thought! I wrote that name down, but I wanted to check around to see if that's what other people are actually wearing. I think I have all required books. I got them at a great price...$425 for all of them! I still have to get my shoes and two tops yet. I think I'm good w/ everything else.

Did you get your liability insurance through NSO? And did it take a while for them to email you a certificate? I paid for mine last Friday and still haven't received confirmation from them.

I got an email from them about a week after I snail mailed (I can't recall exactly how long it was after I mailed it.). I printed my certificate and uploaded it to the record tracker. I got my hard copy in the mail a couple of weeks after that.

My 'pending' has usually been 'pending' for two to four days after uploading of a required document.

I still don't have my CPR card to upload, but we were told at the CPR class not to worry about that if we don't get it before August 1st, since they now we took the class.

Well the last thing I have to have completed is my . I faxed it Friday and Friday afternoon it had still not shown as pending so I scanned it and uploaded it. It is still showing as pending and I am hoping that it get completed by Wednesday. NSO set me back a whole week by not sending me my certificate until a week later.

I scanned and uploaded my proof of second dose of Hep. on Thursday, and I just checked the record tracker, and it's still showing 'pending.' I'm finished w/ everything on my checklist, other than the 3rd dose.

Well I called to see when it might be completed and how convenient is it that the guy I need to talk to isn't there and I have to leave a voicemail? I would have rather just put everything in a big envelope and snail mailed it or hand delivered it the the school.

Honestly, I feel the same way. I can't believe we had to pay for the record tracker. That has been very time consuming, scanning and uploading. It wasn't so bad for me because I work in an office, but if I didn't, that would mean going to the library or school. I don't even know if libraries allow scanning.

I have to agree. If I didn't work at my uncles business where we have a fax and scanner it would have been a really big pain. I spoke to Miss B in the nursing office today. She said they had several problems through the my record tracker and if my was not checked as completed by August 1st it would be ok. She said they are being lenient this year since its the first time using my record tracker and having so many problems out of it. And if I'm paying someone for their service they could at least get it done in a timely manner. 4 days to click a box completed on two pieces of paper is a little slow to me if I'm paying you to do it.

I'm glad you spoke to her and I'm happy to know that it won't be an issue for you.

I have been working two jobs also but for two years. Lol. I will be quitting my surgical tech job right before we go back to school though. Just been trying to pay off bills and buy books and get tuition! Ugh! I have about 4 more books to get. I also heard we should get a meddeck which really helps with when we start going over meds. They are pretty cheap on amazon though.
