Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, would anyone like to start a thread on getting into Motlow State's Nursing program this fall? I wish everyone luck.

Did you ever get your issue resolved with the drug test?

Yes, finally! Apparently, I was misinformed at the facility. I was supposed to be at that location!!! Grrrr! Anyway, I was able to have it done during my lunch hour. I have everything checked off my list except the 2nd and 3rd Hep. & CPR. I'll have the CPR finished after the 19th and the 2nd shot after the 21st. How are you coming along w/ getting everything checked off your list? Are you confused about what books we need?

Just submitted my payment for my drug test and the stuff for my background check today. They only thing I have left is to purchase . I will probably do that with next weeks check. Then I will have everything completed. I live in McMinnville and the drug screen place is in Manchester so I will have to drive there one day next week to get that taken care of. I am a little confused on the recommended books that we will actually use in class. I've heard some were only used for one lecture and were useless so I'm kind of torn on whether to buy those or not. I have purchased all the required books that we need though.

Congrats to everyone who got in! I graduated with AshleyArgo this past May. I went to the Smyrna campus. Like she said, it is a really tough program but totally worth it! They're hard in what they expect you to learn & know, but I think they've prepared us to be the best nurses possible! I passed my NCLEX with 75 questions on June 14, and I give a bunch of credit to the instructors!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! :)

Congratulations!!! Thanks for the encouragement! I'm so excited to get started!

Thanks! I'm so ready to get started! I'm a surgical tech and that schooling was rough too but I know nursing school will be worse. I'm getting super excited now that time is getting closer. I even had to go school supply shopping already. Yeah I'm a dork. Lol

Finally submitted my drug test this morning. Now just waiting on it and my background check to say complete.... Almost there!

I still have to get shoes, but I don't want to order them until I try them on somewhere. Do you have your shoes? If so, what kind did you get and where did you find them?

I wear Dansko's. I wear them while I'm working as a surgical tech. They are the most comfortable shoes when you stand on your feet all day! I tried on a pair and then had to order the solid white ones on zappos since they didn't have them at the store. That's also what the director recommended when we were at orientation. They are expensive but worth every penny to save your back and your feet.

Did you get your through NSO? And did it take a while for them to email you a certificate? I paid for mine last Friday and still haven't received confirmation from them.

Did you get your liability insurance through NSO? And did it take a while for them to email you a certificate? I paid for mine last Friday and still haven't received confirmation from them.

I had to register for "my account" through the first email they sent you. Then I emailed myself the proof of insurance once I was signed up! I was waiting around or an email like they promised as well!

Also how long did it take most of your documents to no longer say pending? Its making me nervous!!!
