Motlow Applicants 2014

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Hey everyone! Just wanted to create a place for potential Motlow Nursing students for fall 2014 to converse, ask questions, and get to know each other. Anyone out there? If so, which campus do you hope to attend? I live near Lavergne, so Smyrna campus will be my home base.

For those of you who have questions about the process over the next 6 months, I went through all of the application/acceptance/orientation/etc steps last year, but had to withdraw 3 weeks before classes started due to a financial aid fiasco...so I know what's to come and would be glad to clarify anything for you.

Good luck to everyone and hope to be meeting you all this summer!

:nurse:

So, do we have 3 or 4 classes on campus? I was thinking 4, but it looks like 3 (minus online).

Let me clarify that I meant to say 3 or 4 DAYS PER WEEK of class!! Monday and Wednesday of lecture and one more day for lab/clinical? That equals 3 days total, or am I missing something?

I'm confused about that too! They said in May we would go four days a week but when I checked my schedule I only have three days on campus. (Not that I'm complaining!)

One more question......I have sent an email regarding this a week ago and haven't gotten any feedback yet, so I thought maybe someone on here would know. Regarding loans, if you receive the pell grant to cover your class fees, and ALSO apply for the maximum loan you are elligible for ( in my case, freshman classification)....am I guaranteed to receive that loan? Or is it a maybe? The reason I am so very anxious to know the answer is because I'm waiting to turn in my notice at my part time job...it all hangs on this loan. If I don't receive it, I can't quit.....and I would love to turn it in now! I don't want to wait til the last minute and not be able to give a 2 weeks notice, this has me so stressed.

I gathered the same thing from the orientation....4 days, but schedule seems like 3.

I think it's 2 days of lecture, 1 day of lab, and 1 day of clinical....I think. :bored:

The 4th day is clinical and it won't be on your schedule. It will be around 6am-2pm (or 3) usually depending on clinical site. There will be 6-8 of you in each clinical group and you'll have different times/days. The schedule you have doesn't mean much (other than the mw lecture days). You will have different schedules for tues/thurs.

So 2 lecture days, 1 lab day, 1 clinical day.

Did you get a reply yet on this? Or find out through motlow. I was just curious myself.

Do any of you have the non traditional Hope scholarship? Just wondering what the award amount is. I have received it but don't know the amount and can't find any definite answers online.

I don't know about the hope scholarship, but I know that the financial aid links are now reflecting student loan amounts so it might be showing those too. (It shows under the payment schedule section.)

See everyone tomorrow!! :)
