Moorpark College RN Program - Past, Current or Prospective Students

Published

Hello! I would like to know more about the RN program at Moorpark College (at Moorpark, CA). If you are a past, current or prospective student - please chime in and let me know what you think of the program. If you are a current student, what were your stats when you applied? Also, what is the typical schedule? Do you have lecture on certain days and then clinicals on other days? When/what time? If anyone at all has any info (or thoughts, etc.) on the program (positive or negative), please feel free to post! Thank you so much!

Congrats! See you at the "Open House!" :)

Thanks! Congrats to you as well!

Thank you!!! I live in the West Valley. The notification was mailed on Monday per the date on the envelope & I had to sign for it. When I called last Friday, they said notifications would be sent out within the next couple of weeks, so I wouldn't worry about it if you didn't get it today! :)[/quote']

you had to sign when it was delivered to your house??

you had to sign when it was delivered to your house??

Yes @rachelmacy. My mailman only gave the envelope to me after I had signed a slip. Hope that helps. ;)

Hi All!

I just got my letter, the problem? my letter says "Alternate Candidate". I just called Moorpark and was told that as an alternate candidate you are supposed to attend the orientation, and are required to submit all documentation as if you were accepted. It is a bitter sweet moment for me. Does anyone know more about alternates?

Good job!! An alternate is still good!! How many points did you have if you don't mind me asking??

I called Moorpark today and found out about a couple of things. First of all, all letters were sent on Monday. There will be no more letters sent at this point. Also, they do not send out rejection letters.

My understanding is that in the event someone declines admission into the program or does not meet the conditional requirements by the due date, or requests a delay in admission with an approved excuse, an alternate is on standby to take those spots immediately. There are bound to be a few...

I also read somewhere (I think on the website) that if, as an alternate you do not get into this upcoming semester (Spring), you are automatically IN for the following semester (Fall) for sure. So, I think it's still good.

oh okay thanks for that info. so basically if we didn't get a letter by now, then we didn't get accepted ?

I'm afraid so :(.

I'm afraid so :(.

Really?!?! Still keeping my hopes up for all you gals!

Thank you Rachel, I am crossing my fingers! And no, my letter does not have any points noted and they won't disclose that information over the phoe--I doubt they will in person either.

Thank you, bratty477! good info.

Well, I will be attending the mandatory orientation and will ask all those questions then. I;ll keep you posted.
