Moorpark College RN Program - Past, Current or Prospective Students

Published

Hello! I would like to know more about the RN program at Moorpark College (at Moorpark, CA). If you are a past, current or prospective student - please chime in and let me know what you think of the program. If you are a current student, what were your stats when you applied? Also, what is the typical schedule? Do you have lecture on certain days and then clinicals on other days? When/what time? If anyone at all has any info (or thoughts, etc.) on the program (positive or negative), please feel free to post! Thank you so much!

omg!!! tomorrow!?!? that's so exciting so hopefully we get something in the Mail Saturday or Monday! that's crazy. well I failed my teas the first time and got an 80% the second time and my gpa is a 3.47 overall! I'm hoping that's good enough. so nervous!!! can't wait to hear if we all get in or not! good luck to us all

After calling Moorpark again, I found out today that notifications will be sent "within the next few weeks," so that could mean next week or the week after! So it will be more waiting! :/

Your stats look great to me, so please don't worry about it - you have a great chance of getting in! And yes, good luck to us all! :)

On a side note, for those who had issues with how they were assigning points, their website (re: assigning of pts) was finally updated earlier today.

Also, they couldn't divulge the number of points that were considered "competitive" for this application period. I did find out that 85% of acceptances are based on points alone, and the rest of the 15% will be based on random selection. If I find out anything else, I will be sure to post again. Hope this info helps a bit.

Wow! Thanks for the new info! Within the next few weeks? That's crazy we need sometime to prepare for the orientation on the 4th! Keeping fingers crossed for all of us!

Hello! I too applied but for the LVN-RN. Does anyone have any other info? Thanks a bunch.

Hi! I don't know much about the LVN-RN program at Moorpark, but you can most definitely call them directly as they are very good at answering any questions that you may have. Good luck to you!

I called today and they said that they sent out notifications via certified mail yesterday! So I guess we should find out this week {at the very earliest}! Fingers crossed...

I'm in! Got my acceptance letter via Certified Mail today and I'm just ecstatic! My first acceptance notification out of the few schools that I applied to! I am just so beyond thrilled! :)

congrats!!!! Where do you live? I didn't receive anything from them today.. Do they send even if you get rejected? I wonder why I didn't get anything today..

Thank you!!! I live in the West Valley. The notification was mailed on Monday, per the date on the envelope & I had to sign for it. When I called last Friday, they said notifications would be sent out within the next couple of weeks, so I wouldn't worry about it if you didn't get it today! :)

Nice going, jdc! Can I ask how many points you have? I also did not receive a letter today, so I don't think it's looking too good for me.

I just received my acceptance to Moorpark's nursing program today as well. The spring schedule is on their website ... if you look up classes under nursing science, you get a very good idea of how the next four semesters will look.

November 4th is their "open house/tea" where you get your admission packet detailing what needs to be done between now and start of program. During the first week of January, you have your official "orientation".

Thank you so much @ballerinka! Well based on the online points criteria (and if I calculated correctly), I have 88 points out of the 100 (I have no recent volunteer hours, so have zero pts in that respect). I tried calling last week to verify my actual points, but they would not disclose that information, and instead redirected me to the updated form on their website in order to calculate the points myself.

Please do not say that it is not looking good for you! It has only been two days, and the person I talked to over the phone said that notifications would be received within the next few weeks. :)

Good luck to everyone that applied!
