Montgomery College Nursing Spring 2015

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

So I figured I would start a new thread for those applying to Montgomery College in Spring 2015.

I had applied to the nursing program in the fall of 2015 but was put on a "wait list" which was not used because my AP 1 and 2 were over 5 years old. I have since taken a pathophysiology class and so now the AP 1 and 2 will be counted towards the four core course requirements. I have a 3.45 GPA, I scored an 82.7 on my Teas, and I have all four of the required prerequisites finished.

I really hope I get in this time or I don't know what I am going to do. I have heard the spring semester is easier to get in which makes sense because you don't have all the high school seniors that will be graduating applying. Anyway good luck to everyone applying!

I think that them asking someone for additional info is a GOOD thing, but maybe that's just me. SGTtony, my TEAS results was about near to yours, but yours is a little higher than mine was. Mine was 70%. I am definitely worried about that. My TEAS score is what has me worried the most.

Wow! I hadn't read this thread in a bit and I can't believe we might find out this week! I'm so nervous!!

@dream_true do you think it would be reasonable to do a part time job? I keep thinking I might need to do at least babysitting or something a few times a week so I'm not using student loans for everything in my life.

@ChoacheSilky It is hard to say. But, everybody from my clinical group that started nursing school working had to stop to work after 2 weeks in the nursing program. I was the only one who decided to keep work, because I already took 22 credits in one semester and I did just fine... So I thought 9 credits (first semester of nursing school) would be just fine too -- I was sooooo wrong!.

Good to know. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

It's good to know they are calling people if you forgot something. I keep worrying that they somehow lost my application and that's gonna be the reason I didn't get in. I think I might email tomorrow just to double check, and maybe to see if I can get any more info on when we should be receiving our letters.

Yeah, I'd like to call them and ask if they actually accept people with a 66% TEAS score. Because I definitely haven't seen that, though that is the acceptable lowest score you can get on the TEAS to be accepted for MC nursing...at least that's what the application says.

The letters go out today!! We are actually going to find if we are in this week. I talked to Ms. Nunez in admissions. She said not to worry if you had not gotten a call from them, she was only calling people who had something missing from their application.

This is seriously going to be the LONGEST week ever. I just hope I'm home when the letter is dropped off, I'd hate to miss it and have to wait longer to go pick it up. Good luck everyone! Post on here when you find out.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! This is soooooooo scary!!!!!!!!! Since I live in Gaithersburg, I will probably get my letter later than those who live in Silver Spring...so when you guys who live nearer to Takoma Park start getting your acceptance letters, I'm going to freak out because I haven't gotten mine yet. LOL. And that could be good or bad because those who are not accepted just get a regular letter, and I think those go out a bit later than the ones who are accepted. So I am ultra nervous since I am further from Takoma Park.

OMG OMG OMG (hope_is_w_feathers I am sorry for be copying you, but it is how I am feeling LOL). I just had a small heart attack, ChoacheSilly.

I will let you guys know as soon as I get it. I should be getting it tomorrow, because I leave very close to campus (takoma park). If I don't get it tomorrow, then I really gonna have a heart attack LOL.

"I LIVE"

dream, true,

I am going to be checking this all day tomorrow to see if you received your letter. You're lucky. I wish I lived that close. I am trying to figure out how long it will take me to get mine... Since I am in Gaithersburg, I guess I will expect it on Wednesday or Thursday. If I don't get it by Friday, then I will freak for sure.

Thanks for putting a lot (more) pressure on me, hope_is_w_feathers LOL. Seriously, I don't think I can sleep tonight! I will let you know!

2.5 hours and counting. I can't wait another day so I hope I get it today! Last semester I did not get in and I did not know they sent out the denial letters by regular mail. I kept seeing everyone post saying "got it and I'm in" and I was so stressed and then completely bummed when I did not get in.
