Montgomery college Nursing Fall '18

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! I couldn't find a thread for the Fall '18 semester so I figured I start one so that we can all share and support each other while we anxiously wait for our acceptance letters. I'm just curious what every one else applied with and if you guys applied to any other programs. What where your numbers?

I got a adjusted score of 74% on my TEAS and a 90.7% on my reading, I have a 3.5 gpa, and all of my pre and co requisites completed. I got into the nursing program last year with the listed above requirement and had to declined due to a high risk pregnancy. I am still nervous for this upcoming fall semester. Has any one else experienced this and still got accepted? Also has anyone attended in information session on what exactly to expect time wise in the programs, such as how many days a week will be need on campus?

Hi tmilliam! Thanks for starting this thread.

I went to an info session. They said typically it's 2 days a week for classes/labs, and 1 day for clinical. Clinical is on any day except Thursday, and you find out a month before the semester starts. For each semester, the clinical is on a different day. It depends on the hospital's schedule. Then you schedule classes and labs on the days that you are not at clinical.

I got 73 on TEAS, 83 on Reading. My GPA is 3.6. I have all of the prereqs done except BIOL 213, which I am doing now. If I don't get in for Fall, I'll try again for Spring.

Good luck to everyone applying!!!

Hi Joyp79,

Thanks for responding and putting some insight on what the schedule might look like. I planned on attending in information session in May. Goodluck!!!

Hey tmilliam! I've applied for the Fall 18' semester and just patiently waiting for something to come in the mail. Not sure when I'll be receiving something but I just know on their nursing page, responses will get mailed out before memorial day. So fingers crossed. I took the TEAS and got a 71% overall with 87% in reading. I completed all my prereqs prior to applying. But question for you, since you were accepted last year but had to decline due to high risk pregnancy, did you receive your acceptance letter certified? I've been checking my mail everybody hoping that I get some type of response letter soon. Not sure how competitive how the program is but I'm hoping my score and GPA helps me get in.

Hi guys,

I also applied for the Fall semester. I heard it's a lot more competitive than Spring, so if I don't get in this semester, I'll either opt for trying again for spring OR maybe thinking of a second career choice.

My teas is sitting at 79.3%, reading was 87.2% while science was 72.3%. My GPA is a bit on the average/lower side (2.9). Some major life changes occurred and focusing in school became difficult which contributed to my lower GPA. I'm hopeful I'll get in though since I did meet my TEAS and all prerequisites.

A friend of mine got in with a TEAS score of about 73% and I believe her GPA was sitting at 2.5. I can't remember if it was for a Fall or Spring semester.

Please let us know when you guys get your acceptance letters so we know when to expect ours!

I'm really nervous of how rigorous the program is. I'm a single mom of an older toddler (4 years old) and have a hard time keeping focus, but I'm extremely determined to make this happen!

Yes the letter came certified mail. So you should have someone come to the door for a signature. :) I know when I went to the info session the explained that having all your prereq's are the main determining factor. I think when I went she said that they receive 250 applicants. But they normally send 180 acceptance letters because many decline.

Amomani,

I can understand being nervous getting into a vigorous program. I am currently trying to switch to night shift with in my job because I do want to work part time. So working part time, juggling a 7year old and 7 month old scares the mess out of me. :( I am hoping with my medical background will help me slightly.

I applied! MC was the only nursing program I applied to. I finished all the prereqs and got an 82 on the teas. I'm away on vacation for my best friends wedding until June 1 so you guys please let me know when you get your acceptance letters!!

And thank you for making this thread! :)

Hi everyone. Have you heard about anybody who already got acceptance letter???? It is already Thursday. They have to deliver by Memorial Day. Getting nervous

There's another thread on here for Fall '18 and one of the members stated that they had called the admissions office and were told that letters won't go out until June! I'm super confused and extremely anxious í ½í¸©! Hopefully we start seeing letters tomorrow! Quick question, you only receive the certified letter if accepted, correct?

Hey Garza1531. I actually thought the same thing about getting a reply prior to Memorial Day but I looked at the application we submitted and on last page it shows programs starting in the fall will receive a response prior to Memorial Day. But right below that it says students applying for the nursing program in the fall will receive a response by mid June. I as well read other threads from previous semesters and a lot of applicants received a response before Memorial Day. Just look out for that knock on the door from the mailman with a certified letter! That means you're in! Good luck!!
