Montgomery College, how long?

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

I sent in my application for the fall at Montgomery College today. The deadline is March 1st. Does anyone know about how long I can expect to wait before I get an answer?

Thx,

Nikki

Thank all of you

you are so nice!

I will take TEAS again this month to try the last chance for applying the spring program, but my question is when I can retake it again if I fail this time? For example, My first TEAS was on May 20, Do I need to wait until May 21, 2012 for the third time?

I know Montgomery college requires applicants finishing all the prerequisite courses before application, how about UMB? if I give them my schedule and promise to finish all the prereqisite courses before get in the program, is that ok?

I got three A's on science but B on Microbiology.

We all need a little support now and then :)

There is a 30day wait between retakes and only 2 attempts are allowed in a calendar yr. Yes, you'll have to wait 'till May 2012 to take it a third time. UMB does not require all prereq. to be completed at the time of application but they'll need to be completed by the start of the program.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you can get most of that info on their website. Also, they hold information sessions throughout the year. They have a list of those dates online.

I misunderstood your question. If you took it on May 20, you'll have to wait 30days (I think that would be June 18) for a second attempt. If you need to take it for a third time, then you'll need to wait a yr from June 18.

Again, someone please correct me if I have the wrong info.

Just came back from handing in my confirmation to the admissions office! I'm sooo excited for orientation!!! (Does that make me weird?! Lol) I wonder if I should also fax it in, so I have proof that I sent it on time; just in case it goes missing or something...I'm paranoid, can you tell? Lol. How did you guys send yours in?

Andrea, I'm excited for orientation...still about 3 wks away. I faxed mine on Tue. and also mailed it yesterday. I think I went overboard, sent it certified.

Am I the only one nervous about starting the semester?

I was actually just lurking in this thread as I'm taking my pre-reqs for BSN programs at MC although I plan to apply to UMD and others. I wouldn't really feel bad about not getting accepted at UMD, I've heard that they get 3 applicants for every available slot.

Also, for others that are applying to UMD, you can have outstanding pre-reqs and apply to the program. The deadline for Spring 2012 is September 1 and I don't think they have the deadline posted for Fall 2012 yet (although that is when I plan to apply). So if you didn't get accepted to MC, then definitely try again as well look into UMD if you qualify.

Congrats to those of you starting at MC Nursing in the Fall! So exciting!

I hate that I don't continue to get updates on this thread.

I faxed mine on Tues and mailed it today.

I am looking forward to starting but then again, I'm not. I know it is rigid and time consuming. So I am not looking forward to the stress/anxiety aspect. Also, my youngest has a severe speech delay and I was speaking with his speech pathologist today as to what to do in the fall. We want to put him in a transition preschool program, that focusing on speech. It is only 1 day a week but I was told it is on Mondays for my area and I know for a fact that I will be in school. So I told her if we could find a spot on Tuesdays in another area I'd appreciate it becuase I want to be there. So my main frustration right now is not having a schedule to work with so that I can schedule these types of things and start looking for a sitter/nanny. How do you tell a nanny you don't really know when they will be needed except mondays????

Kristian - I never did get a follow up email regarding the CPR class. I better contact them to make sure I am still registered and find out what the next step is.

Thanks leenak! It's very exciting, although I get butterflies in my stomach thinking about the program, especially the clinicals. Good luck in your studies and getting into the program of you choice!

Nikki, that's got to be frustrating; so much going on and trying to set a schedule that seems to be almost impossible right now... It'll all work out :)

I def. suggest calling. Let me know what happs.

Kristian - I just sent them an email stating that I never heard from the instructor per the confirmation email. I also noted that I had a $5 off coupon.

Yes, it is frustrating. We really only have about a month to get everything in order before class is due to start. I just hope finding a nanny goes as well as it did this past semester (I only interviewed one person). She is a paraeducator so she can't watch the kids during school hours.

I guess their system "hiccuped". It should be straightened-out tomorrow.

Have you thought about going through a service? Too costly?

what do you mean a service?
