I sent in my application for the fall at Montgomery College today. The deadline is March 1st. Does anyone know about how long I can expect to wait before I get an answer?
Thx,
Nikki
Lol! You're crackin' me up, Nikki. Yeah, Beth was saying how I'm going to have to buy some white underwear, etc, etc. Yuck, yuck, yuck. What could we wear underneath the pants so they're not so see through? Long johns? Leotards? Biker shorts? And the shoes???? Oh, man. I gotta have something that looks cool. Maybe some all-white Chuck Taylor's or Puma's.
It would be smart if they posted all of this info on the nursing website...forms, booklist, uniform info, etc. Even if it was password protected for those who've accepted. I hate being in the dark and not able to act on anything.
I was trying to search on here for any info about the uniforms but I'm not finding much. I found one for UMB and they had to wear khaki pants and a white top.
Hey bluewonder- I hope it all works out for you. If you're not getting all the information you need from a counselor, you may want to schedule an appt to see someone in the nursing dept. There have been several times in the past that I've received misinformation from counselors.
Hey girls- The student handbook on MC's nursing website has guidelines for the uniforms; not sure how updated it is...something about khaki pants. I just want a uniform that fits well.
Lol yeah I read in the Nursing handbook that our undergarments have to be white or nude colored! I find that kind of funny...
There's supposed to be a vendor at orientation for the scrubs; I wonder if it'll be cheaper to get them there or to order them online. Anyone know of a good brand? I def want one with a lot of pockets! I'll need to carry my phone, hand sanitizer, and whatever little nursing gadgets we'll need to carry around. I'll probably get at least 2 pairs.

Nikki-I forgot to reply to your question about finding a place in MC. We haven't had any luck so far, but we're continuing to look, in the hopes that something will come up. I know the chances are slim that we'll find a place that will take our animals, but you never know. If not, I'm resigned to staying where we are and just paying the out-of-state tuition. It kills me that I'm less than a mile away from the MD/Montgomery County line, but I'm still considered out-of-state. If this were my first degree, I could get a grant from DC to cover the difference btwn in-county tuition and out-of-state tuition.
