Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

My titer came back (-) for Rubella, so had MMR vacc- follow up for that is 07/28 which would be after the deadline. My question to her was what do I need to submit and is it ok to complete that after the 15th? Since you had + titers for all 3, you should be good to go. But since Andrea and I are (-) for 1 out of the 3, the question is do we need a 2nd vaccine as proof or a will a + titer for Rubella (in my case) @ follow-up be accepted?

Sorry to hear about all that's going on. I hope he feels better soon. Yeah, after 3:30 would be a bad time to make that trip.

oh, ok. Thanks for clarifying. Can we mail all our info? I thought I heard Prof. Matthews say not to send it certified mail????? I don't think I'd feel comfortable sending it without confirmation of delivery. Too bad we can't fax it all.

I don't remember exactly what she said about that. I think she said it would be best to submit it in person. It would suck if it got lost in the mail. I was expecting one of my books via USPS and it's no where to be found, that was w/ delivery confirmation.

Do you remember if she said we won't need our student ID to access the building to submit the packet in person?

I was looking at my notes from orientation and for some reason I wrote bring a copy of CPR certification to registration...

I just called the health center and my Hep B titer is still not in!! Seriously, what is taking so long? It's been 2wks. I'm still keeping my appt for tomorrow morning.

Nikki, are you waiting for yours?

No, I got my Hep B titer with all my other lab work. But they did run the wrong test for it so the doc had to call and tell them to redo it. I didn't need to have more blood drawn but it took an extra day. I hope they didn't lose it or something. It shouldn't take that long.

As for the book, that stinks. Where did you order it from? Maybe it was delivered but it hiding somewhere around your house, in a bush or something? That happened to me before. UPS delivered a small package. I wasn't expecting anything and had no idea until my relative told me about it. I was told it had been delivered but I never got it. So I assumed someone stole it. Then a few days later I saw it hidden under a bush beside the stoop of my house. It had been there nearly 2 weeks!

Oh, and I believe she told us we do not need our ID to access the building.

I confirmed w/ the NP about 10 days ago that the titer was ordered and she reiterated that it usually take 2 wks.. And and when I cked today, it wasn't ready. There is a chance there was a mix-up in the lab at some point. I figure w/ the NP's help, I can get more details tomorrow (or it'll be ready by then). The lady who usually answers calls generally seems annoyed w/ MC students...well at least w/ me lol!

According to the tracking #, the book hasn't left MS. I got it from a seller on ebay. I'll ck around outside, anyway.

Hmmf. Maybe they take longer there since they are getting so many request between MC and UMD students.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying it already shipped and trackign was saying it had been delivered.

I don't know how accurate the info is, but it's good to be aware.

Thanks for the welcome and all the great info!

Spent 5 hours in the ER last night with my son. He had breathing way too rapidly and the doc said to take him in to the Shady Grove pediatric emergency center. Good thing is he seemed so much better after treatment. Needless to say, he is still resting (went to be around 3:30am) and I'm doubtful I will make it to campus to drop off the packet again today. Does anyone know if I can drop it off over the weekend?
