Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Published

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Sounds interesting Kristian. But why can't you apply for that now? Sounds like they pay for your education and then you work for them for like 3 years.

Am I not understanding the qualifications? To be qualified for active duty employment w/ the Navy Nurse Corps, the age requirement is between 18-41. I'd be 42 when I graduate.

Oh, ok. I thought it was to start the internship or school program. My bad.

Just curious...what all are you guys bringing to orientation tomorrow? What do you think we will need?

I'm bringing the papers we got with our acceptance letter, a notebook, pen/pencil, my list of questions, a book and my IPOD (in case I need something to do), and my student ID. I can't think of anything else I'd need. I don't wanna be lugging around a huge bag or anything so I'm gonna try to fit everything into my purse :)

Oh, and a folder to put all the paperwork they'll be giving us in.

Ya, I was thinking a binder to organize everything, pen, paper, and maybe the papers they sent with the acceptance. A book is a good idea. I know they said it takes like 3-4 hours. I wonder if there is some sort of sign in/registration (not for classes) when we get there.

And what did we all finally decide on when/where to meet?

Am I the only that's freaking out just a little, considering worst-case scenarios like if they misplaced my acceptance confirmation?!?? My hubby's telling me it's just jitters but I honestly don't know what I'd do if I went there tomorrow and they told me they never got my confirmation. I'd either start panicking and cry or march over to the Admissions Office and smack the lady who I specifically remember giving it to!

Sorry, didn't mean to make anyone else nervous, but I get paranoid about these kinds of things all the time!

Hi girls, we're meeting at the corner of King St and Georgia Ave, just down from the Arts Center, at 11:30am and then we'll walk to Tiramisu from there.

We got bad news today about my sister's cancer. It's a Stage IV invasive colon cancer with probable metasteses to the liver and maybe a kidney, adrenal gland, and right lung. Those spots look less suspicious than the two spots on the liver. Either way, it's not good. We're looking into getting a second opinion after her PET scan with Hopkins, Georgetown, or the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, which is the #1 ranked cancer center in the country. Devastating news, to say the least.
