hi everyone! i recently took the TEAS V for Fall '14 at Montefiore SON (formerly Hopfer). No results yet (It wasn't on a comp so there's a wait to get my grades). Anyone else hoping to get accepted?

So is everyone that got in definitely attending? I also got into Nassau CC's nursing program. NCC is of course way cheaper, and it's also closer to my home. Montefiore is a great hospital system, and perhaps going to the nursing school would help in getting a job at Monte? I was reading the student handbook online (like a nerd), and they say that parking is sporifice in the area, which would be a problem for me since I'd be driving in (can't imagine how long it'd take to get there by public transportation). Maybe there's a parking garage nearby? Anyway, I think I'm gonna go to the open house this thursday at 6pm and see how everything is to get a better idea. But yeah, just wondering if everyone is set on attending.

I already gave them my deposit so I'm def in. Lol

U can park in the visitor's garage across the street from the hospital. I think it's $5 a day. I think that's the best bet coz there's a 2 hr limit on the meters n the neighborhood has alternate side parking. There's also municipal parking a block away but idk how much that cost.

I'm definitely attending. I also got into WCC, but WCC isn't continuing with their evening program. I'm considering deferring enrollment to the Winter of 2015 so I can finish Microbiology in the Fall and have all my courses complete for when I start at Mercy for my BSN-MSN (thinking long term).

I also think the evening program might work better for me. I need to politely decline at WCC so that seat will open for someone :-)

I would love to attend Thursday with you but I have a nomenclature exam to ace in Chemistry at 6pm.

I am also a hopeful. Just took my Teas yesterday and I was a few points from being Advanced but ended up in the Proficient category. Can we be accepted into Monte SON with that score? I have all my prereqs completed. So nervous right now.

I also got a Proficient level result. So nervous. Took the exam yesterday and we got our scores right away. Think we can keep each other updated? Good luck to you.

Hi there. Monte said as long as u score proficient, u can b considered for admission.

U got ur score right away? Where did u take ur TEAS? I took it at Monte using paper/pencil n had to wait a couple of days to get my score.

The hospital's right next door of the school, n the parking's across the street. Yea, it'll add up. I'm still going to try the street parking n the paid parking will be my last resort.

Yeah, it's definitely good to think long term, I'm trying to do the same. I was looking at some of the info Monte had sent earlier (like with the curriculum, financial info, etc), and I see that they say that you can begin your coursework towards the BSN simultaneously with the associates courses. I wonder if this is only possible for those in the 1+2+1 program (which is only for those directly out of high school)...it would be great if I could do that if I decide to go to Monte, since I'd like to get my BSN as quickly as possible!

Ugh, good luck with your Chem exam, I'm currently having a fun Saturday studying for my last A&P II exam. If I go to the Open House, I'll post on what I learn.

Ok cool. Street parking would be great, but I'm worried about how that would work in the early morning. Don't think I'd like to be circling the block a couple times at 7:30am (assuming classes start around 8-9am)! I already do that at my job (I work at Beth Israel, and it's street parking there), it's not fun.

I'd still try it. Maybe circle the block a couple of times n then use the visitor's parking if there's no spot available. Hey, u never know

Yes I was surprised at how fast it was. Seems like Monte can grade it right then and there at the school. Took it yesterday morning and by 7 I had an email telling me my scores were available. I know you can get in with Proficient but I was wondering how many people actually made it with that result.
