hi everyone! i recently took the TEAS V for Fall '14 at Montefiore SON (formerly Hopfer). No results yet (It wasn't on a comp so there's a wait to get my grades). Anyone else hoping to get accepted?

Ldy76 I got the good news today but packets are being mailed out this week. We have until June 6th to deposit and Aug 16th to appear for orientation so I don't think Monte is in a rush. Question, are any future Monte students LPNs? Is there any way to shorten this program? Also, does anyone know of any LPN positions available by this summer? I am originally from NY but have been in Virginia the last 3 years. Can anyone point me in the right direction with the job situation in NY cause I have 2 months to move and its so hard to coordinate all of that being so far! Any help would be great and for those still waiting, you will hear back soon so remain positive. Fellow Monte Class of 2016, I hope to meet you all in August. Super excited!!!!

From my understanding from the information from an Open House, the program is 2 years no matter if you are an LPN or not. Monte doesn't take LPN credits to shorten the program. I have seen some programs online that do LPN to RN programs. I hope this helps.
Hey NurseNare.. I got my admission packet a couple of days ago. I gave in my deposit the day after I received my acceptance email lol
This program at Monte is strictly for ADN RN. So there's not shortening for the program. I'm not sure if there r any LPNs here on this forum that's pursuing an Associates in nsg.
You can check out the hospitals' websites to c if they're hiring for LPNs. But here's website for NYC hospitals u can check out. This is not including state or private hospitals.

Did anyone who received their admission package get a textbook and supplies list. I'm trying to get the school expenses in order. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi SWANYNY. I received the admission package too. The textbook list will come later. The supply list I think I saw it in the handbook.
I went to the school today to drop off my deposit. I was told my packet was mailed out yesterday. I did get the log in for Moodle and was able to see some of the things we need to get done. Its a lot. If anyone has things they need to get done, start now because August will be here before we know it. The book list is coming soon and I was told we have reading to do before class starts.

Hi everyone. So how many people from this site got into Monte SON? I got my email and ran down with the money order already. do they put all the students in one hospital for clinic?

Every semester the class is separated into 4 groups. At least this is how they did it for Nur 1 and Nur 2 for our group. For Nur 1, we were on a few different units at Montefiore New Rochelle and Schaffer. The semester is split up into two clinical rotations and you switch locations. For Nur 2, we were at New Rochelle and Mount Vernon. They'll let you know how you're going to be split up.
