Montefiore SON Spring 2016 Cohort

First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS! WOOHOO!!!

The years spent doing pre-reqs have finally paid off. :bookworm: =] I'm excited (and nervous) for what's to come over the next two years. How is everyone feeling now that you've (likely) received your admission packet? My head is spinning from the book list alone. I have a few of the books but earlier editions; hopefully, they'll let me use them. What shoes are people going to be getting? I can't find a pair of all white sneakers. One thing is for sure, I do not want a pair of 70's nurse shoes or worse, clogs! Haha

See you at orientation!

ETA: I am in the evening/Saturday program.

Ok so I found your thread- obviously:roflmao:

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

I am still finishing up some of my pre reqs so I am kind of relieved that I can focus more on passing these classes without the headache of having to study for the KAT any longer.

I have thoroughly read the admission packet. (Whhhooosssahhhh). I am paying my for my placement today. As far as the CPR and flu shot stuff- I am a LPN at Montefiore so I am mandated to have these updated. What is bugging me out is the book list, If you look at the page that breaks down tuition you will notice that the costs of textbooks says $11,000.00. Of course that was an error but I made sure to call the school to clarify.

I cannot afford all of those books by Jan 9, 2016. Something has to give.

As for sneakers I would recommend the all white Rebok Classics( extremely comfortable) or The all white Nike Air Max.

YES!! Congrats SunkissedRN2b! Thanks for starting this new thread. I didn't post anything in the previous thread, but I'll contribute to this one now. Cangilbar and I work and go to the same school for our prereqs. We probably drive our classmates crazy talking about all this nursing stuff!

I agree, the acceptance packet is pretty intense! I literally drank a glass of wine after reading through it!LOL

I went to the open house yesterday, and I thought to myself "wow, this was me last year!" We should be very proud of ourselves and very grateful!

I'm currently taking A&PII and Microbiology. I don't want to start the nursing program feeling overwhelmed so I'm trying to plan a mini getaway to clear my mind!

And as for the books, I've been searching online for used books. My plan is to purchase them over the weekend.

Congrats @cangilbar @sweetblu!!!

Definitely a good idea to get those classes out of the way beforehand. That was my thought process as well. I didn't want to do anything but nursing once I got accepted.

I'm also going to look up the books and hopefully be able to find some B&N coupons to save more money.

Since you both are LPNs, what footwear do you recommend? Nike Air's (did you mean Air Force 1s @cangilbar?) aren't comfortable to me and reebok's aren't very supportive. Why am I so focused on footwear? Haha

Yes me and Sweetblu are driving everyone crazy lol!

So when I went to pay my deposit on Friday I asked Sandra if we really have to have ALL these books by Jan. She said that it is best we have the books that are required for the reading assignment that is due before class.

As for the shoes I meant the Nike Air Max. If you dont find the Air Max or Reebok Classic comfortable then u are going to end up in clogs:roflmao:

Has anyone found the Dosage and calculation form on Moodles

Hahahaaa noooo clogsss!

That's good we don't need all those books before class. However, I think I'm going to get them anyway just so I'm not hustling for them when an assignment is due.

I'm going to drop off my paperwork tomorrow or Tuesday so I'll look on Moodle once I get my password.

SunkissedRN2b- Have u signed on to Moodleroom yet

Not yet. I will first thing tomorrow.

Hey guys I was also accepted into the evening/saturday program! If you think you're stressed feel a little better knowing I currently live on long island! This commute won't be too much fun until I am able to move but I'll have to make it work! I can't wait!

That's some commute @Kate825! Congrats on getting in!

@Cangilbar, I can't log in to Moodle. Hopefully, I'll get everything straightened out next week.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Who else is cooking and looking for Black Friday deals on textbooks? It can't just be me. Haha
