Montefiore School of Nursing Spring 2016 Applicants

Hello Guys! Figured I'd start a new thread on Montefiore SON for Spring 2016 since I haven't been able to find one. Anyone out there in the process of Applying to their nursing program? I called them yesterday and was told they will be sending out Exam invitations soon. Where are you in your process??

So I took the test at Montefiore today. Got the same score 80. My critical thinking score went up to a 88%. The same lady on the phone was the proctor she said they have about 200 applicants and that they are only taking 35 students they look at GPA for a small portion but their are only taking the best 35 scores. She also made it a point to say DO NOT call her, and that she doesnt want to hear from anyone. They will email those who are accepted the 2nd week in November. ! I was like yup thats the same rude lady.

@hotrjboogie. Your score is still good- good job! Your post made me laugh lol... On the other hand I don't think there were really 200 applicants maybe 130 because the first few days of testing there were 3 to 5 people.. She is just intimating and scaring us .... But let see what happens 2 more weeks until we know...

There were about 20ppl there. This is way more competitive than cochran, there were only 3 ppl that day.

Wow, my hopes are slowly fading away. I think is more competitive at Cochran because for Cochran the passing grade score for exams are like 80% and applicants need to have at least a B on A&P...

Cochran said they take into account GPA and to aim for grades of 70 and above on KAT and you have a strong chance of getting in. Montefiore is saying they are only taking the highest 35 scores and they are not really looking at gpa.

I think it's crazy to only pick the top 35 scores. Then what was the point of us seeking out someone for our reference letters and studying hard to make As in prerequisite courses??? We could have all just made C's in those course and study our butts off for the Kaplan exam í ½í¸•

I know!!! so its just a luck of the draw! Its REALLLLLYYY Dumb. One exam score should not trump a strong GPA....

Its retarded. You could do awesome everywhere else get a okay score and thats it your out!.

I dont like that policy and i cant stand the attitude of that admissions counselor. (Im sorry but she irks me!) Just RUDE for NO REASON! She needs to get her life all the way together.
