Hi all, I have a question. I am paying $8300 (tuition) + other supplies for school. The hours I was expecting and that are stated are 4p to 10p Monday-Thursday. I get to school at 4, we don't start until 4:15, then we take a break from 5:45-7:00 come back for a bit then take a break 8:10-8:20. Some days we leave at 9 others 9:15. What do I do? This is NOT what I signed up for!! Help?

Is your program full or part time? I go part time MWTh from 4:30-9:30 p.m. with a 10 minute break every 50 minutes. My program is about 3k more than yours but I will be in school for 18 months. If you are concerned you should speak with your program director.

I am in school full time and my hours are supposed to be 8am-3pm, but, we take a break every 50 mins for 10 mins> I started this program Aug 8th and since I've been there, I think I left at 3pm maybe once or twice and my tuition is $27,000. As long as you are learning and getting the materia I wouldn't stress it however, if you feel as if you're not getting your money's worth and or learning anything because of wasted time, then I would talk to the DON (director of nursing) of that program and stress my concer because at the end of the day, this is your time, money, and education and good luck :)

Well I dont understand the big break but do you think you could honestly sit and listen to lecture for 6 hours straight and retain it all? The amount of material we covered was crazy. Most of my classmates and I NEEDED breaks to focus again. Is this what is going on?
You know what, I read your post wrong, all of those breaks does make since the 5:45-7:00 break is your dinner break which by law, you have to have and a break every 50 mins so that you brain can take a break and retain the material better. I go to lunch from 10:50am- 12pm and a 10 min break every 50 mins you couldn't possibly reatin all of that information without some type of break.

Hey I know we go to basically the same school just different times and locations. It kinda differs for me with lab and lecture. Our hours are 8-2 and we usually get a break around 930 or 940 for about 20ish minutes for lab. Then we usually go into the labe from 1005-1200 and then take a lunch until 1 and come back for about 20 mins and leave which is ugh..

What matters is that you're learning what you need to learn. If you have good instructors has a much greater impact on the quality of education that the amount of "seat time". At my school we go M,T,W,Th,F 7:45 - 2:30 with one 15 min break in the morning (whenever instructor says we can) and a 30 min lunch (again whenever we're told to). Never ever start one second late or leave one second early. It's brutal and even with that much time in class, I don't feel that I'm getting quality instruction.
