Is it true that Army Nurse Corps (Reserve) total money of $65,000 ($50,000 HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM (HPLR) ADN degree + $ 15,000 ADN degree) goes straight to the bank account??? Did anyone really get this amount of money for 6 years contract??? I want to get as much as I can before I burn in hell J:confused:
Let me clarify what my recruiter told me. For FY2009, there will be no bonus money for reserve nurses as they overfilled their quota for FY2008. The bonus money is still available for AD nurses. As far as LRP, according to him, it is still available.
Hi AN2BS,
I was actually refering to people with contracts pending (fiscal yr 2008). Not commissions for fiscal YR 2009. But thanks for the clarification.

Just,I have heard several individuals mention getting a copy of our initial physicals, blood testing, applications, orders, etc. (basically what you send up to the board in your packet and what comes back in the scroll). My question is how do you obtain these items?
Hi GnPD,
If you go to your HRC https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/index-nonflash.aspx and login to the your "account page" they have posted your documentation, i.e. any waivers, letters of appointment, oath of office, award of entry grade, orders, certificate of understanding, physicals...... I did not see my initial application but all the other documents are there.
You can download them onto your computer and print. (it took them awhile to post all my documents there....)
Good luck,
cindy
hi!
I met with my recruiter yesterday. He informed me if I want to sign up for 6 years I would get $50k to pay student loans and a $30k bonus. Of course, each incentive is a 3 year committment, i.e. if you sign for 3 years you get one or the other not both and it is sequential. Also, to note is that ADN nurses don't get any bonus, the army has done away with that.
If you're like me you can tour different units and decide which you want to be assigned to. I can go to Hartford, CT or Worcester, MA.
I am feeling really good about joining. It'll be nice to get to focus on something other than the population I now provide nursing care too ( a lot of state health insurance recipients) and provide nursing care to persons willing to lay it all on the line to defend our rights (No, I'm not on the soapbox).
I have tried logging into the site before, but I have not been able to access any information. Is it under Tools?
Hi Gettinga,
Lets see. After I login on the HRC website, I go to:
1. On the top menu bar--- pick "MY RECORD"....Pick "Login into my Record Portal" (first choice)
2. Pick "Reserve Record" (it may be Active Record for you--try both)
3. On the Side Bar---Pick Reserve Record (Active for you)--- pick "Documents"
4. They should all be listed there in adobe format. I see now they have my transcripts and diplomas as well as the other documents.......
Hope that helps. (the navigation side bar has all sorts of good stuff to look at, i.e. retirement points, calculater, assignment status, boards, evaluation etc....
good luck,
cindy
hi...i am looking for info on the possible new bonus that may be part of the new defense bill.. it was on the air force times website and is part of the new bill but does not give any $$ amount. anyone see anything about it anywhere?
bonus increases
several bonus increases are proposed. under the house bill, some medical professionals, including psychologists, mental health practitioners and registered nurses, could receive a $100,000 bonus for one year of active service-a temporary bonus that would expire sept. 30, 2010.
the senate has a different bonus, just for psychologists, that would pay up to $25,000 a year for a four-year commitment, plus a $400,000 accession bonus.
both bills propose several other increases, including doubling the accession bonus for nurses to $20,000 and boosting monthly incentive pay by $250, to a total of $1,250. also, nuclear officer incentive pay would be authorized for service agreements of longer than three years.
to encourage training in a foreign language or culture, the bills would authorize a $12,000 annual bonus for officer candidates who become proficient in a foreign language and would create a test program to provide a skill bonus for reservists who receive language training.
the increases would take effect when the bill is signed into law, but the services have wide discretion in deciding when or whether to offer the higher amounts.
prediction: details remain in flux, but bonus increases, especially to get and keep badly needed psychologists, are a sure thing.
getnphd,
the info older was presenting is also available from your ako web page... I'd walk you through but I no longer have my ako log in capability
If you take a look at the areas that show the ORB link - it's in that vicinity
Check out AKO's drop menus and it will probably say something similar to my record... forwards you to a hrc site and requests log in again and then allows you to d/l all files in a single zip file - pretty nice.

I haven't heard contrary - however, I was not aware the new fiscal year's benefit/incentives were actually released.....
