Stars I hope your brother finds that it is nothing serious.  Glad the pain and the rash are fading

Dianah sounds like a nice time

Ado that is a cool looking pie

Went to church early yesterday to help usher.  Surprised that attendance was pretty normal, despite being a holiday weekend and having switched the service to an hour earlier for the Summer.  Afterwards ran an errand or two and did the cooking for the week

Then used up updated bike rack to take the bike to the Prairie Path.  Which was kind of disappointing.  Had a long ride but it wasn't a particularly interesting one, less interesting than just riding around the suburbs here.  And I found out the issues I was having was because the buckles on the rack are worn and don't hold the straps tight anymore. So I got rid of the rack, and will just ride locally

Today have bird watching in the morning, then will do laundry and then will try a chocolate cake recipe.  Hopefully won't prove too complicated, will be doing the frosting too

Going to be similar to the last few days, high in the mid to upper 60s

Low to mid 60's, cloudy, and scattered, intermittent rain showers. It is 9 AM. What the heck am I doing up and awake? I got up to pee, then had a hankering for some coffee, and fed Momo breakfast. It's chilly in the house, I think the AC is set on 72 but it feels a lot cooler than that. Momo and I are happy to snuggle under the down blanket, and it is highly likely I will follow her lead and go back to sleep for a while longer. It is kinda nice to be able to indulge myself that way. 😴

I'm going to take my AM meds, except for the Prednisone, because I really don't feel like EATING something yet. I am still a bit itchy, but the gypsies are pretty quiet.

I'm glad it is not going to be a hot, sunny day. I remember I told y'all once how funny it was when my (former) brother-in-law and I both reacted to a morning by saying, "Oh, no, not another sunny day!" Then we laughed about how silly that sounded.

I KNOW Nannie MUST HAVE slept well last night because she'd had NO naps yesterday at all. Maybe today will be a napping day for her because it is overcast? One can always hope. Meanwhile the coffee is disappearing fast, so it is time to put this laptop down and snooze some more.

Later, y'all.....

Good morning!

Stayed up a bit late and slept in after feeding Waffles at 5:30.  Woke up nearly three hours later.

Hi Joe, hope you have a good day.  I have bad bike karma with flats and having bikes stolen.  Maybe when I retire I'll get back into it.  There are several bike clubs around here.

Stars, glad the side effect of the Prednisone is improvement in gypsy symptoms.  It sure helped with my neck pain.

Dianah, glad you had a good weekend.

Ado, kudos on the nice looking pie!

J22, hope you're feeling okay after the fall.

Work was uneventful mostly.  I called a sepsis alert on a patient that was sick but in the early stages.  She improved but then spiked a temp as I was leaving.  HIPPA prevents me from checking on her today.  Hope she's okay.

I'm off today but parks and beaches are crowded so I will not be going out.  I have some things I want to accomplish.  Laundry is being done.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning. It is gently raining after a couple of days of sunshine. I'm having less pain each day, but sleeping is tough. I can only sleep on my right side, so I wake up after 2 hours. Sit up for a few minutes, then wrestle myself back onto my side, place a pillow just right under my left arm, and struggle to pull the blanket over my shoulder. They did give me a few Norco, so I take one of those and a tylenol at bedtime. I was working in my garden yesterday, but it's a struggle because it's my dominant side that hurts. The biggest difficulty is brushing my teeth with the wrong hand, LOL. I need to make a follow up appointment with ortho. I have a lovely bruise blossoming over my collar bone.

Joe, I had a bike carrier that was a pain to deal with. I got one that hooks into the hitch on our truck, and I think Im going to get a hitch mount on my new car, once my collarbone heals. I get nervous riding in town because drivers are cray-cray.

Annie, that was a lovely pie!

Dianah, what a nice location to camp. I enjoyed our trip to Death Valley, although dh just couldn't tolerate the heat.

Hi Tweety! My little dog likes to get up at 5:30. Once I let her out and give her a little treat, she will usually nap until the big one wakes up and keeps licking me until I feed them.

Hello all!

I did all my computer updates (dh has me trained to do them daily), but three from the Microsoft gaming ppl just would NOT completely download, and sat at "290.00MB Downloaded" for many minutes before I cancelled the downloads.  So there!

Joe, what a headache that bike rack was!  Good decision to get rid of it.

nursej22, so sorry you are having trouble sleeping, with the injury.  Would sleeping in a recliner help?  You know, I have never been to the Grand Canyon or to Death Valley!  The campout was in the Victorville area, and actually had large grassy areas, due to recent rains.  There was also a field of cows nearby, and when the wind was low, we got whiffs of bovine methane 😉 .We had little traffic yesterday, which was a relief.  We try not to travel when "the Las Vegas traffic (coming or going)" is heavy.

Tweety, do you have your new fridge?  Sometime we may have to replace ours (I think it's late 80's issue!), and have tucked away your recommendations for Samsung.  Thank you.

I got our laundry done yesterday, so today is for relaxing.  We had a band practice scheduled, but one member is not feeling well so we are attempting to reschedule.  I may have to make more "crackers" today.

Have a good day!

dianah, please repeat the recipe for making those cheese crackers. I didn't make note of it when it first came up, but now whenever they are mentioned, my mouth starts watering. ......so, 'time and temp', please? Thanx!

Nannie has not slept this afternoon. She has been quiet, sitting with her hands folded, and eyes closed, and frowning. "Why ask why?" I don't really want to know because it is bound to be complicated! She can't even answer a 'yes' or 'no' question with a yes or a no; I get a long mumble of word salad and then I say, "Was that a yes or a no?"

Dull, (YAY!) Quiet, (YAY) afternoon. Count down to her bedtime, approximately 5-6 hours. 😉 (Carly Simon, in the back of my brain, is singing, "Anticipation....")

One package of thin-sliced swiss cheese -- cut each slice into 4 pieces

Sea salt or seasoning to taste

Heat oven to 350

Cover two baking sheets with parchment paper, then place the cheese pieces on them.  Best if they don't touch but it's OK if the occasional connection happens.  They'll break apart after baking. Sprinkle with seasoning.

Bake for ~10-12 min.  Remove sheets, cool 1-2 min and use spatula to remove crackers to paper towel.  We keep them on a paper plate (with paper towel under crackers), to maintain crispness.

I will add chopped (seeded!) jalapenos to half the batch, and will leave those in another 5 min.  These don't stay as crispy as the plain crackers but they have a nice flavor!

Enjoy!

I love cheese.  But Swiss is my least favorite.

Got a text that my new fridge will arrive between 7AM and 11:00AM.  Which narrows down the 7A to 7P window.  LOL.   I'll get up at 6:00AM to unpack the freezer which is still working.

Had a productive day of mowing the grass and going to the gym.  I left some lentil barley soup out to thaw yesterday and tonight it's rotten.  Bleh.  I still have some frozen that I'll microwave as I don't anything else to eat.

This site freezes up on me frequently and I have to close out the browser and start all over.  Anyone have this happen?

Hmmm, haven't had any issues with the site freezing up.  I'm confused why the lentil soup would be rotten in such a short time, just being thawed?  And the crackers, to me, don't really taste like swiss cheese, once they are baked.  😉 the jalapenos help!

I am so excited that you will be getting your fridge soon!!  w00t!!

I've had that happens couple times lately, but it isn't just here. I thought it was just my wifi misbehaving again.

The same is happening to me lately, not just here, and not often. (We've had some serious weather lately and thought that might be the problem).

I only have the issue on CHROME, not Safari.

@nursej22, perhaps use a lightweight blanket up by your neck and shoulder, to keep warm with your limited positions.  I made a small flannel "scarf" that I use to help keep my neck and shoulders warm at night, so I am not always tugging at the covers.
