Tweety that's good that your financial advisor stays in contact with you

Dianah I'm glad you slept better

Stars sounds like you were productive

I think Sunday was productive for me too.  Got the laundry done before church.  Went to church and sang with the choir.  Came home and made lentil soup.  Stopped by the library, ran some errands and exercised.

J is better but still a little under the weather so we didn't get together.

Have been emailing my dad and aunt about a possible mini reunion this year.  I called some of the state parks we normally go to and they have rooms available, so if enough people say yes it might be a go, as long as they decide quickly.  Dad is already talking about a regular reunion next year, we'll have to start planning for that soon if we want to do that too

Was reflecting on my career history, in the 13 years I've been a nurse I've had 6 jobs, in the 10 years I've done case management I've had 4 jobs, and when I was in research years ago I had 5 jobs in 10 years.  So it seems on average I only stay with a job 2 to 2.5 years.   Kinda puts things in perspective, whether I like or don't like a job chances are I won't be there long

Will be in the 30s today, 40s the  remainder of the week although 60s on Wed

Its so nice to "see" everyone again.

I've been away from AN for a few years - life happens as everyone knows. Hubby and I are now raising our teen grandson. We've had him on/off his whole life but now its a permanent arrangement and we are very glad - no more worries about his safety.

I'm still working full time plus but hope to slow down a little in a few more years.

Hi Joe, and Welcome TraumRUs! I know I've read your posts on other threads. Raising a teen? Bless you.

I did almost nothing yesterday. I rode my bike to breakfast, and then to the drugstore to get claritin, (sniff, sniff) and the took the long way home, so I got about 11 miles in. I went with dh to run some errands and picked up sub sandwiches for lunch. I have every intention of doing yard work, but couldn't keep my eyes open. Two hours later, I woke up and started watching the Oscars, and then back to bed when they were over. I actually had a dream last night! So I guess that's a sign that I slept more soundly than I have in a long time. It was a frustrating a dream, (couldn't find my glasses, LOL) and people kept asking me about Ukraine. Woke up with some soreness, but much decreased from the usual. It's raining today, so I'm not sure how much yard work will be accomplished.

We got our financial planner sort of by accident. When my dad passed away, he left me funds in an Edward Jones account, so I left it there, and then added  my accounts from 2 previous jobs. Dh had his with a different Edward Jones guy, but we put them together for convenience. Financial guy does check in at least once a year, more often as we near retiring. I can look at things online, but I try not to, knowing how volatile markets are now. We've been getting phone calls from real estate agents offering to sell our house and make big $$, but we couldn't buy even a smaller house for what we would get. I have a feeling we may end up in a condo eventually, especially now that it seems that all the yard work and maintenance seems to fall to me.

Tweety, I think the yoga studios around here are like the childcares. They want people to commit to regular attendance for planning rather than depend on drop ins. I will look again, now that things are opening up.

Have a good day, all.

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

J22, glad you got some rest.  Strange dreams.

Trauma, so good to hear from you.

I was reminded of some education due while I'm out and finally figured out how to get it done from home.  I had to download some app called "Citrix Service".  I'm going to try and get it on my phone as well.   There's lots of annual training to get done.  Bleh....

I got up yet again early and couldn't sleep.  I wish I could sleep longer or go back to sleep.  Having to get up and feed dogs that won't let me sleep past 6AM isn't helping but the past couple of days I've been up before 6AM.  Bleh....

Speaking of dogs, I have to take them to the vet for a checkup and vaccines.  Bowling is tonight.

I need to go to the gym as I've been lazy.

Have a great day.

Good morning all!

Joe, looking back at your work history does put it all in perspective.  Hope  the reunion is a go, that ppl commit to going and you can get the hotel/area you want.

Tweety, will be thinking of you during bowling tonight!

Hello, hello traumaRUs!  So good to "see" you!  Good your grandson has a stable environment now.  Bless you for helping him.

I slept real well till 1300 then woke up till after 0500.  Then I was able to fall asleep for a bit more.  Must have been excitement over my first day being retired (during the week)!  LOL!  I'm sure I will get used to it!

We're supposed to get rain today, all day then none for a LONG stretch (think: prolonged drought conditions, same as the last 2-3 years ? ).

No real plans yet today.

Have a good day

Good Afternoon! We have 60 degrees and the usual March winds. Just a tetch too cool for me not to have a jacket on, sitting on the front porch, which is in the shade by noontime.

Poor, poor Nannie....Her absolute favorite lunch is a steak and cheese from Subway. Two of the Subways are closed down for re-"decorating", and the third one has a sign on the door that they were closed due to not having enough staff! (Sorry for the inconvenience!)

We still have most of that tree-trunk down on the ground, mostly uncut, and two taller-than-me piles of branches in the back yard. Hubby said if it wouldn't melt the siding he would just go ahead and burn the branch-piles right where they sit. The guy who said he wants and would cut up the tree for fire-wood....has been working over at his place across the street: flower beds, chickens, pigs, goats, ducks, and dogs; plus he has a full-time job. So, I dunno. We have had several days of beautiful weather these past two weeks, and it seemed like it would have been a good time to 'get'er-done', however we didn't hear a peep from the guy. Hubby says he can call someone to come get the backyard cleaned up and haul off the logs and branches, but it would cost several hundred dollars, which Nannie doesn't want to pay. But the guy said oh, yeah, he did still want the wood. Meanwhile we wait, and some of us are more impatient about it than me. ? I mean, free is free, and we don't have any control over that guy, so hurry up and wait!

So, I watched the Oscars, which got fairly 'interesting' toward the end when Will Smith marched up on stage and punched Chris Rock, and the sound was bleeped out, but it wasn't too hard to read Will Smith's lips. Someone who was talking about it later said that was the first punch he'd ever seen that didn't leave any marks. Someone else said Will hit Chris with an 'open-handed' slap. It was a bit odd, because at first Will and his wife seemed to laugh at the joke, but his wife winced, and that's when Will got up and went on stage. Then later when he was accepting the Best Actor award, he was crying and philosophizing about what God put him he on earth to do, which was love and protecting family, etc.  Oh, and I thought Lady Gaga was very nice when she and Liza Minnelli (in a wheel chair) came out on stage, to announce Best Picture. Poor Liza seems quite confused about why she was there, but Lady Gaga was gentle about redirecting her to the task at hand. Oh, Hollywood. What a night.

Several times in the last two days, both hubby and I swore we heard Ozzie bark his distinctive one sharp bark, but at different times from each other hearing it. Visitations? I know when we had to put our 12 y.o. cat, Fletcher, to sleep, we would hear him in the house. He used to sleep in the straw laundry basket on top of the dryer, and when he got out of the basket and walked across the the dryer, then down onto the Hoover cabinet, then onto the kitchen floor...well, it was a distinctive sound, no mistaking, just as if Fletcher was doing it; we'd look at each other and say "It's Fletcher". That happened periodically for at least six months.
