Dianah that does sound like a long day,  but it was good that they had so much music at the service

NJ22 sounds like you had a good time in Seattle

Stars that seems like a better idea, to wait until after detox to drive to Maine

Ado I find that at times I can recall information but not where I got it from

Quieter day yesterday.  Adult education then church then coffee hour.  Then I did some cooking and ran an errand or two.  As seems to be usual  for me I found myself as at loss at what do  to for the afternoon, once everything was done.  Kinda like a need to be busy.  Was fairly warm so went for a walk in the evening

Today will be a bit busy.  During the lunch hour will have someone come to replace the springs  on one window, hopefully it won't take long so I don't get delayed at work.  Then have a routine doctor's appointment.  Tomorrow will see the counselor over lunch and then Wed is Ash Wednesday service.  Glad I have Friday off

Will be another warmer than average day, in the low 40s

Good morning!

Was too tired to post after work yesterday.  I made some "Just Egg" for dinner and fell asleep reading.  Work wasn't too horribly grueling this weekend just busy as always.  Both days I got an admission at around shift change.

Yesterday I decided to treat myself and use a free lunch card, I had two and gave one to the tech and my coworker had one too and we all had cheeseburgers and fries for lunch. I was going to eat around 1:00 and decided since I had a patient in PACU to wait until I got him settled to have lunch.  I waited an hour and then said out loud "I decided to not wait any longer and go to lunch now" and the I kid you not the phone rang then and there and it was PACU.   How is that possible?  It happens to me so often I swear I'm part of some sit-com reality show.

When I think about what I've put into my career and what I've gotten out of it, I have to think that I have a home, a car, and I've traveled many places.  So my career has given me back.  Still it seems like I've given so much blood sweat and tears I wonder if it's worth it.  LOL

Have a great day.

I forgot it was Prez's Day and drove to the post office and bank, they were NOT OPEN, so I came right back home. Hubby says Arby's is for supper, and he has driven out to get it. Didn't seem at all snockered, so that's why I let him make the trip.

It is a gray, cool day. One prediction says no rain, another said 7% chance of rain and a third prediction said 40% chance of rain tonight. Take your pick!

The birds and squirrels have pretty much emptied the hanging feeder and cleared most of the seeds I put out on the steps, but I am not doing a refill 'til tomorrow. There's a lot of seeds that have fallen to the ground and they can work on that for now. The red-bellied woodpecker isn't too happy because all the nuts and fruit mix is gone,  and that's his "fav".

Nannie got bent out of shape trying to tell me, losing words and adding some verbal salad.....but I eventually figured this out>>>>> that the folded paper-towel that was on the seat of her walker, is no longer there! ("Somebody took it.") Goodness Gracious Ignatious! It's not like there aren't any other paper towels in this house.

Okay, supper should be here shortly.

A quick hello!

Joe, today is not considered a holiday at work??  Good you have a counseling appt tomorrow, I know it's been a bear getting it.

Tweety, you are absolutely right about considering all the advantages you have had, by continuing in a good-paying, steady position.  Not that ANY position is free of its glitches and disadvantages!  I, for one, enjoy reading about your travels and beach walks.  :)

Love the "Goodness Gracious Ignatius!" No Stars!  Hope you got a good dinner tonight.

Quiet day today.  I baked a chocolate cake last night, and frosted it today.  Dh is salivating over it.  He will likely have some after the online jam session.  As he says, "chocolate is not my favorite but that cake and frosting are REALLY GOOD!!"  I made the Wacky Cake, a Depression-Era recipe, made without eggs or butter.  Now, the frosting, well, I made it with butter and powdered sugar and cream (had no milk on hand) and vanilla and cocoa, so it's pretty rich!

Dh is on the phone right now with the RV mechanic.  We are still crossing fingers it will be done by Thursday.

We are expecting rain from Wednesday through the weekend and into Monday and Tuesday.  If we get the RV in time, we will be on the road to AZ on Friday.  BUT, they are expecting rain there, on the weekend!  So, no outdoor jamming but there is a "clubhouse" in which we jammed last year.  I would be very disappointed to miss Saturday's memorial service, for a wonderful man whom we all will miss.

Have a good evening!

Hubs and I really enjoyed watching Northern Exposure ? -- I hate to think how long ago that was.

dianah, I hope your RV is ready to go for you. That was a long day with the memorial service, but I'll bet the music was great, and heartfelt.

Stars, I like Arby's. Allegedly we will be getting one in the coming months here in our little burg.

Hubs thinks Gma's current state of lethargy might be related to having stopped her Abilify per the neuro doc's instructions. She is sleeping a lot and doesn't get up at the crack of dawn. And she's not as angry. So... it's easier to take care of her. But is it right for her? Could there be something else going on?

We won't be having an Ash Wednesday service. The pastor will still be out of state.

I always liked Northern Exposure, at least the regular townsfolk. The main character was annoying.

I have today off because of the holiday. I went for a run in the cold rain and was soaked when I got home. My DIL is doing a 50 K (31 mile) trail run in 2 weeks, so I am inspired by her to keep plodding along. I did the assigned reading for class, about vegetable gardening, which was pretty basic and stuff I've done for years. Now I watching Hulu between laundry loads. I suspect we'll have pot pies for dinner. I like Arby's.

We will likely de-winterize our little travel trailer soon, but a cold snap that's been forecast for the last week may come through this Wednesday.

Yes, Tweety, I used to think I was being set up at work when stuff would always happen at the end or beginning of shift, or when you tried to eat.

I just ran over to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and it was cold and soggy, still. The thermometer in the pickup read 46, but it felt like 36. I was going to splurge and get a mocha at the coffee stand, but the line was stupid long. I made myself a hot chocolate instead. I like holding the warm mug in my hands to warm them up.

nursej22, I thoroughly dislike "stupid long" lines.  ?  It has to be something REALLY worth waiting in line, for me to agree to wait!  Stay warm, I got a chill just reading about your run in the rain!  It's inspiring that you keep on!

Watching "Dr G. ,Medical Examiner" doing an autopsy, and they were talking about all the blood and tissue samples being tested. Nannie says to me: "Have you had all those tests done yet?"

I had to laugh! I said, "NO! Dr G is testing a cadaver to find out why she died! ...And *I* am not dead yet, so I haven't had those tests."

.....she says, 'oh.'

I've been listening to the podcast "Dr. Death" per recommendation of a couple of people from my book club. They told me to listen to the ones about the neurosurgeon.  Shocking stuff there.
