Mohawk RPN January 2019

World Canada CA Programs

Hey all!

Move just submitted my application for Mohawks January 2019 RPN Program! Anyone else applying?? :)

Humber was pretty quick, I wrote saturday and got emailed tonight to say I was not accepted. :(

I am not sure about the other schools. I applied to humber and mohawk for september and Georgian, mohawk and sheridan for January.

I might cancel sheridan as I am not sure I want to go there. I havent been in school in a very long time and so I think if I dont get this time around I will have to do some upgrading and reply next fall. However if thats the case I will apply for RN instead.

Oh I hope I get in this time...just not hopeful after today's let down.

Oh so sorry to hear that. That's a good idea coz that's what I did, I've invested 6mos to upgrade my hs credits to get high (buffer) marks in case I don't do well in HOAE. I don't knw if it's gonna pull up my "competitiveness" but it's worth a try. You still haven't heard from Mohawk so who knows? Good luck!

Wow that was fast! I'm sorry you're feeling bummed about that one, but there are still other schools that you are waiting on! Don't give up hope just yet! :) With any luck, maybe January at Mohawk will work out, and we can all be classmates! :)

I write mine tomorrow so tonight is full of cramming info into this old head of mine! :p

I've also been out of school for a while (12 years) and have completed some upgrading through Mohawk (still working on 2 courses now) and applied with courses in progress!

Stay positive and we shall see how it all pans out!! :)

Well, Ladies I have canceled my test this Friday and will write it in a few weeks. I spoke with the school and she told me that as a MS you have to pass the test and either do testing because I don't have the grade 12 Sciences or do upgrading. She told me its best to sign up for the upgrading and make sure it can be completed by January. She said offers are just starting to go out for JAN so I have sometime.

Good thing is I get extra 2 weeks of study time.

Please keep me posted on whats on this test. I really need to know what is on here for MATH, CHEM and BIO....

Good luck all and I so hope to see everyone is January...

Hey!!

So was the test this Friday for the mature student testing? (Sorry I forget what it's called) At Mohawk?

Two more weeks of studying sounds good, and will help put your mind at ease for sure!

Most colleges offer those ACE courses and you can submit proof that you are enrolled with your application if you decide to upgrade with them! I've been upgrading for a few months now, and they are just taking letters from the ACE people with my application stating I have courses in progress and my current marks, as a guideline!

:)

@AspiringRPN2020: good luck!!

@mrtc0139: yup, u still got lots of time :) Good luck as well!

Btw, I checked OCAS and my raw score from last Monday's HOAE test has been uploaded. I just don't know how to compute it :)

Thanks so much!!! :)

Exciting!!! I've read some posts on here about how to interpret the scores, but that it's tough to understand and really make sense of!! How do you feel you did overall? Does it state your score out of the number of questions in each category?

It only showed my raw score, the percentile score beside it is still blank. Overall, I think I did ok haha :)

Awesome!! I wish we knew what the scores mean! LoL Guess I will be checking OCAS on Friday to check for my scores! I can't believe how fast they upload them!! I thought we would be waiting for a week or two!

HI Aspiring - what is the ACE tests like to see what level you are at? I assume they are pretty tough. Once I have signed up with them and sort out if it will take me two terms or 1 to get the upgrade I need I will be able to write the HOAE..do the upgrading go towards your OSSD? like do you get credit for doing them there as well?

Guys, please let me know as much as you can on whats on the exam. I MUST pass this and after Humber I ams so nervous having not been ins chool for 20 years and no OSSD to speak of. lol

Hey!

So the ACE courses can give you just the upgraded courses you need for nursing such as math, Bio, Chem, and communications (English). I'm doing all mine online and you have up to 6mths to complete each course! I'm finding them pretty straightforward with the exception of chemistry, it's pretty intense. I'm doing them online as opposed to in-class as I work full time and wasn't able to go down to part time at this point!

You can just upgrade the courses you need and don't need your full OSSD to apply. They offer free intakes for ACE as well, so don't panic if you see the $800 per course fee posted somewhere. LoL

I'll let you know how it goes once I'm done today!! Eeeeek! Feeling nervous to say the least!!

Hey guys! I'm done! I feel as though it went ok, although it's tough to tell! It's all a blur now lol!

I'm relieved it's over, to say the least! Now I can get back to focusing on my ACE courses! :)

Lots of basic math, lots of really random science stuff, including some things I didn't review :/ but some were simple enough that I remembered from my high school days! Some I didn't! Now I wait and see! :)
