MJC 2018 Spring application

Published

IM applying Spring 2018 for the MJC ADN program. Who else is applying?

Did any of your guys status change on the application?

Angie, did your status change yet?

Mine says: Documentation approved since 6/27. Applying Advanced Placement pathway. I think they did ours first.

This wait is killing me!!!

Does anyone know what percentage of MJC ADN grads are able to get hired, and how soon after passing NCLEX?

No green checks yet, I'm sad :(

@rnordietrying

you have green check marks and status change already?

Just4kicks I also have not had a status change or any green marks :( you're not alone! Seems like everyone else has had theirs though lol

@CPpres

did you apply the advanced Pathway? i did and everyone on FB seems to have had thiers changed already lol

Yes all green check Marks and status changed on Wednesday but please dont get discouraged I believe you had way more points then me so they must be approving documents randomly. Try calling in the morning. Everytime I talk to Donna she is so helpful and nice about things. Hope your status changes very soon!!!!

Marycas26 no I didn't apply to the advanced pathway, just the 2 year program, and lol yes thats why I wonder why mine hasn't changed yet when everyone else has

Still no green check marks or status changes over here. I'm hoping those of us who didn't apply for the advanced placement pathway will receive updates next week.

All these people talking about checkmarks and its already going to be July gots me going bonkers.

Good evening everyone,

Looks like many of you are stressed and pretty anxious about hearing back in regards to your acceptance. I can tell you first hand that the stress does not go away. I just graduated from MJC in April and I can tell you that it was a wild roller coaster ride, but the coaster is always on fire. I would say just remain calm and enjoy your Summer but that would be hypocritical of me to say the least. My only advice would be to enjoy your Summer once you hear back from the program, because you will absolutely have no time off once school starts.

For those of you that had a question in regards to working full-time I have some advice for you as well. I had worked full-time during the duration of the program and had worked Friday-Sunday for two years straight. The only time I had days off from school and work had been during my Summer break. Family never really saw or heard from me in the two years that I was in school. I would advise against working full-time while in the program if at all possible. Unfortunately, some of us do not have the luxury of quitting our jobs. I had a mortgage, car payments and bills to pay while in school. But fear not for those of you who do need to work, it is DOABLE. Just stay organized, have a calendar and read ahead for every class and you will be fine.

Additionally, I was the lead class representative and had other responsibilities that took up quite a bit of time as well. The program is rigorous and can be stressful at times. You will have moments where you break down and feel like quitting. But just keep your head up and push forward. You have chosen an amazing profession with a lot of history.

If you have any questions for me please feel free to ask and I will do my best to respond accordingly.
