I've completed my first semester of my 2 year nursing program. I now have a semester of clinical experience under my belt. I would like to get a job as a PCT or CNA. I've heard a few things about a nursing student being considered the same as a CNA after their first semester. Anyone have the facts on this?

It depends on the school. My school's first clinical and lab sessions do cover all the CNA tasks, so we are eligible to get our certificates without further testing. Contact your nursing department about it, but no in general, first semester does not always equal CNA.

yes, i just finished my first semester of nursing. as soon as i finsihed i applied for the nursing assistant position. and they called me right away. right now i am waiting for my second interview so they can tell me which unit i can work on, and what days.
about the CNA licensure, from what i know, as long as you completed the first semester of nursing, you are WAIVED FROM CNA CLASS, but you are still required to take the CNA licensure exam in order to obtain the CNA license.
