I wonder if it is just the two of us?

Hello??? Anyone else out there?

I just wanted to say hi. I'm going to be starting 4th semester of ADN at PRCC and just wanted to wish you good luck and let you know if you need any advice or have questions feel free to ask me!

Thanks kc we really appreciate it! Do you have any advice you want to share with us?

Advice: The first week they are going to try to scare you by giving you hundreds of pages to read and a test. DON'T GET INTIMIDATED! It gets easier, but that 1st day you need to go home and get to reading. I'd tell you the chapters to start reading before class but I'm sure they've changed textbooks by now. Should be the history of nursing, nursing process (A.D.P.I.E.) HIPPA, MS nursing practice law, and the first half of the student handbook. For dosage: memorize your equivalent handout they gave you NOW BEFORE class starts. Know it by heart. That is what the first test prob be and you will have to know them for the rest of the program. If they give you the Medical Terminology book, go ahead and work through it before classes start. It will help you out and they'll pull ridiculous details from the "Pathology, Lab Tests and diagnostic Procedures, and Treatment Procedures" sections of each system. If they tell you it won't be on the test, DON'T believe them, they always will put it on there. And follow the uniform policy strictly on lab days, some will chew you out over it.

To me, the biggest thing is not to let yourself get behind in the work. Stay on top of it b/c things do move fast. Stay late as much as you can those first few weeks and get your computer hours done (i found these worthless) so you don't end up having to do them at the end of the semester when you're overwhelmed with other stuff.

Just don't let them psych you out, which they really try hard to do in order to weed out ppl. If ya'll have any specific questions just PM me. I could go on for hours here on advice. LOL

Thanks for that. I was kind of expecting something along that lines really. Feel free to PM me if you can think of anything else.
