hi guys, about 5 years ago i was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault, basically the lightest sexual offense, but it was a class a misdemeanor. i was 18 in highschool, had a party, messed around with a 15 year old, her parents found out got upset, etc. and got this charge. im currently enrolled in the associates degree nursing at my college, and was wondering what limitations would i bump into? i know any sort of sexual assault charge is a big deal to the BON. can i successfully become a nurse? i have a clean record since then and have alot of recommendations and good credentials thus far. im in wiscosnin but looking to relocate to another state eventually. is there a state that is very lenient towards these types of offenses?

That is something we just cannot answer for you. You will have to check with each BON in the state you want to become licensed.

One thing to keep in mind about relocating: even if you are licensed in one state, your criminal history will be reviewed by the BON of any state that you want to endorse into. The fact that you're already licensed won't let you skip that part.
I would get a lawyer to help with the licensure process and dealing with the BON.
Best of luck!

I'm not so sure about that. When they complete background checks they do it on a national level.
OP I would advise getting a lawyer and speaking with the BON.
