Hello all, how are you? I was charged with possession of marijuana 7 grams or less in Texas back in 2007. It was a misdemeanor B charge- and I took a plea agreement to go to treatment. Since then I have had no substance abuse issues, and I have had no criminal issues (some speeding tickets lol). I am applying to Pima Community College CTD program in Tucson Arizona- do you all think I will be able to get in? And if so do you think I would have issues finding a job, or getting my license? Thank you.

It will all depend on how stringent the background check is and if they require a level one fingerprint clearance card or not. If this info is not on the website, then annonymously call the nursing admission advisor and ask about it. For my clearabce card certain misdemeanors couldn't be within 3 years, and some within 5, and some not at all, and a felony pretty much meant you woukdnt get on. On my background check, it was no misdemeanors within 3-5 years and the timeframe varried by charge. These standards were set by the facilities we do clinicals at. I attend an MCCCD program in AZ so I would assume the requirements would be similar for you. Mistakes get made. GL!
