MiraCosta Palomar Fall 2017 ADN

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm starting this thread for those of us that applied to MiraCosta and/or Palomar's Fall 2017 ADN cohorts! Please share your stats/points and any insight on either program if you have any :).

I calculated 85/86 pts depending on life credits. I scored 88 on the TEAS 6, 3.6 science, 4.0 gen eds. I'm also an Emt, worked at a hospital, and have an AA degree.

I know MiraCosta only takes 20 and I believe Palomar is 36. I did almost all of my pre-reqs through MCC and I've been told It has been really impacted the last few cycles. 85-89 was the point range for spring 2017 at mcc! I'll be happy to get into either but Im not sure on the major differences between the two programs.

Good luck to everyone, I'll be anxiously waiting the next 4-6 weeks! 😬

Yeah, I'm not super confident about getting into Mira Costa, but Saddleback is my number one choice because it's a lot closer to me and I feel pretty confident about getting in there.

I hope you get in! Every cohort is different and anything in the 80s is really good. I think you also have a good shot at getting into Palomar.

The first time I applied I only had about 79-80 points.

Its crazy how impacted the program has become, but you never know with each cohort. We have the same points and they told me 86 was really good when I turned in my app. Hopefully we get in!

I went to MiraCosta's nursing meeting earlier this week and found out that they actually award 1 point per each semester of foreign language. I had been told at some

point during my pre-reqs that you needed to take up to 3rd semester to even get points in that section (this is also Palomar's requirement so maybe I was confused). I did have two Spanish classes from another university, so I talked to the nursing office and they were able add those extra points onto my application! Figured I would share this info if it might help someone else who wasn't clear on how they award points in that section.

I have 84 points with Palomar college. I'm so nervous as I really want to go to Palomar College. I've been accepted to Southwestern college and palomar is my number one choice! Did any of you guys went to the informational meeting?

I wanted to go to Palomar's meeting but I was out of town. I think they are having another one April 3rd. Did you go? I really want to know more about their program :)

I actually did not go lol but I just looked through Palomar's informational meeting powerpoint which is available in their website.

I did see that as well, I like how long their program has been around! Why is it your top choice?

well i like that its way closer to me than the other colleges. Also I feel good vibes with the school! haha.

Does anybody know when we are supposed to find out from both schools if we got in or not? I know Palomar sends you an email, but I don't know when.

The secretary at palomar told me mid april!

The confirmation email Palomar sent me when they got my application said end of March/early April and it will be via email.

Miracosta sends a letter in the mail and told

me at the latest mid April

I would love to find out from Palomar this month! Haha

I want to call and ask them but I also don't want to annoy them because they probably get that a lot í ½í¸…

This wait is torture!!!
