Hi everyone,
I'm starting this thread for those of us that applied to MiraCosta and/or Palomar's Fall 2017 ADN cohorts! Please share your stats/points and any insight on either program if you have any :).
I calculated 85/86 pts depending on life credits. I scored 88 on the TEAS 6, 3.6 science, 4.0 gen eds. I'm also an Emt, worked at a hospital, and have an AA degree.
I know MiraCosta only takes 20 and I believe Palomar is 36. I did almost all of my pre-reqs through MCC and I've been told It has been really impacted the last few cycles. 85-89 was the point range for spring 2017 at mcc! I'll be happy to get into either but Im not sure on the major differences between the two programs.
Good luck to everyone, I'll be anxiously waiting the next 4-6 weeks! 😬
I went to MiraCosta's nursing meeting earlier this week and found out that they actually award 1 point per each semester of foreign language. I had been told at some
point during my pre-reqs that you needed to take up to 3rd semester to even get points in that section (this is also Palomar's requirement so maybe I was confused). I did have two Spanish classes from another university, so I talked to the nursing office and they were able add those extra points onto my application! Figured I would share this info if it might help someone else who wasn't clear on how they award points in that section.

I hope you get in! Every cohort is different and anything in the 80s is really good. I think you also have a good shot at getting into Palomar.
Its crazy how impacted the program has become, but you never know with each cohort. We have the same points and they told me 86 was really good when I turned in my app. Hopefully we get in!
