MiraCosta / MSJC Spring 2021 ADN

Published

Hi guys!

I just wanted to make a thread for everyone who has applied for the Spring 2021 ADN programs down here in Socal!

I am applying for both MiraCosta and MSJC since Palomar canceled their Spring ADN application window.

Notifications will be out within 2 months at the end of October, good luck everyone!

Hello guys, I'm also waiting on MC. I have a question, did you guys receive a conformation email saying that they have our package?

@chenuA I’m waiting on MC also, but no I didn’t receive any confirmation they received my app package. Maybe you email them to confirm. I have an email for Mallory if you need it. We should start hearing about offers in the next week or so though!

I did not receive a confirmation email but I did email the department confirming they received my application. Does anybody know how many units a semester the program at MiraCosta is? Is it 12 or more or less than 12? ALSO I THOUGHT WE WOULD HEAR BACK FROM MC BY NOW ?

@Dee-flower I don’t know how many units but I have heard that it’s full time 2-3 days of school but I’m not positive. Sorry I don’t know more. We should here this week if we made it! I’m checking my email constantly today LOL driving myself crazy!!

I am surprised Mira Costa has taken this long to give out notifications since they closed their application period earlier than MSJC.

I emailed them today and was told that they are trying their best to get our results to applicants by Friday

Wow thats really inconvenient considering noon on Friday is when MSJC requires their response. I'll probably just end up accepting MSJC because I'm not willing to risk it. Kind of annoying MiraCosta is waiting this long ? especially when I applied to MSJC almost 2 weeks after MiraCosta and heard back from them 3 weeks sooner than MiraCosta

If Mira Costa has not sent out any notifications, my suggestion would be just to accept MSJC. Then if Mira Costa does send you an acceptance letter, then you can just email MSJC once again and say you can't attend there due to other circumstances. I think the only problem is if you ever plan on going to try to attend MSJC's nursing program again, they won't let you? I could be wrong.

Yes I agree with that logic. I also agree the only fallout would be in trying to attend MSJC after having backed out once.

Its just frustrating for people to be put in that situation. And it seems a little odd that MiraCosta is taking so long, I don't think its normally this late. They might be finishing up figuring out covid policy or something though, who knows.

Lucy I’m in the same position.. MC is my first choice but I think I’m gonna turn in acceptance to MSJC last minute Friday morning and then if I get into MC, cancel on MSJC. IDK what else to do. It’s frustrating

I don't blame you guys, commuting is a pain in the butt depending on where you are driving from. There can be numerous reasons why they are taking longer.  They can be short-staffed but if I recall, Palomar did not accept notifications from what I heard, so Mira Costa might have an influx of applications compared to previous applications. It's better than waiting another semester though!

Waiting is annoying, but on the bright side if you end up turning down MSJC it will allow someone else to have a spot! ?
