Mira Costa Palomar spring 2018 ADN program

Hey there! I am creating this thread for all applicants to Mira Costa and Palomar for the Spring 2018 semester. Hopefully we can cheer each other on and take some of the waiting anxiety away together. My scores were somewhere between 78-84 points with a teas score of 78.6%. As you can see, VERY average. Can anyone enlighten me on the difference between Palomar, Mira Costa, and Grossmont? Grossmont does currently have its own page, but the more informative sources the better! Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Yeah this process sucks haha I wish they could just tell us if we're in when we hand them our applications. Waiting is not so fun. How many points are you at without it, if you don't mind me asking?

Was I the only one that felt iffy handing in my application? I had a lady take it and just put it to the side, and then she went back to another room, I wasn't able to ask her any questions. :(

I'll call next week just to make sure they have it.

I wanted to make sure I had everything correct.

I felt the same way! She seemed busy and when I asked her questions she would just say yes or no and look back to what she was doing. I just wanted a definite point count and to know if I was heading in the right direction or needed anything else í ½í¸Ÿ

Sorry it took so long to respond! I had to take my TEAS.

Just submitted my application for MCC and I have 83 points. Ended up crushing the TEAS and getting a 96! 99th percentile woohoo!

I'm still on the low end of points I think, so I'll be holding my breath until the end of October.

Anyone else submit and have numbers yet?

Wow!! Congrats on your TEAS victory!! I wish I had done better but oh well. You're doing better than I am with points! Did you apply anywhere else? I heard that if you're in the 80's you're golden at Grossmont and Palomar. Not sure how true that is but most of the people I've talked to in the 80's got into at least 2 of the schools! Mira Costa is crazy!

Thanks it felt good and I don't have anyone in real life who understands the victory haha!

Strangely enough I only meet the prereqs for miracosta since I don't have sociology done. I am taking it now however.

Gonna apply everywhere for for the fall if I don't get in this time. Should get in somewhere with the extra 5-7 points I'll have.

But I don't wanna wait haha.

Wow!! Great score, congrats!

I'm around the 80s as well, assuming everything in my application was in order.

Now the wait í ½í¸–

Hey guys! My friend also applied to your cohort and she told me that they said the Spring point distribution is usually a lot lower than fall. Last semester was incredibly high for some reason. If you are 80 + you could definitely still get into MiraCosta :). Good luck again!

P.s. I had the same app experience at Palomar. No one was even there to take my application, and I heard they don't go through it in front of your like MiraCosta does. As long as you turned it in and went through their checklist you should be fine.

I also applied to Mira Costa and Palomar for Spring 2018, I have 88 points. I have also heard that spring typically has less applicants, therefore is slightly easier to get into than during the fall. I hope so, keeping my fingers crossed!

Wow! You're set at 88 points. I'd imagine you'll get your pick. I'm jealous!!

Grossmont takes 40. I believe after the first year they split the classes into 2 (20/20)

I thought Grossmont took 60? Am I incorrect? Also, does anyone have an idea if Grossmont vs. Mira Costa has a better reputation with employers? I live much closer to Grossmont, but I would consider driving to MCC if it is worth it.
