Mira Costa, Palomar, etc. Spring 2019 Cohort

Published

Hi everyone,

I know it's early, but I wanted to start a thread for everyone applying or hoping to apply for any ADN programs (Mira Costa, Palomar, Grossmont, SCC, MSJC, etc.) in the Spring!

Feel free to post questions, potential points, admission notifications, etc.! I'm super anxious to hear everyone's experiences and compare points! :)

Definitely call on Monday!

I found out on Thursday

Yes they did actually! For some reason I knew it was from the nursing department because the school itself would never call me out of the blue. I just wasn't sure if they left a message for me saying I was denied or that I was accepted...glad I'm on the latter side haha.

Thank you Aspiring RN817. I ended up choosing Grossmont.

@TheClassCat Actually CSU's have 3 year program. 2 year of actual RN studies and 1 year for BSN. If you want to work while getting your BSN, I would recommend Palomar or any other ADN programs because you're able to take the NCLEX after 2 years and do your BSN online or such while working. But for CSU's, for example CSU San Marcos, you have to wait until you get your BSN to take your NCLEX if you're doing the traditional route. Hope that helps!

Yes, some programs are 3. Some that I apply to are 2.5. All the ADN are 2 years exactly. But I already did my pre-reqs and quite a few GEs, so I might as well go for BSN. If I go ASN > BSN option that bridge program takes 18 months which is not worth it.

Hi @TheClassCat. I was just wondering what schools those are that are 2.5 years instead of 3.
