Hello i live in California, and i was wondering what is going to happen to the starting wage for LVN'S when they raise the minimum wage . Would our rate increase as well. Help
Yes the range for a LVN is 18.00 here in california but the cost of living is high aswell. How much is the cost of living in CT. Here dependimg were u live but a 1 bed room apt is no less then 975 and thats looking at some areas that are not that nice.
I earned $18.50 hourly as an LVN in Texas, but this was back in 2006. During my last year as an LVN (2010), I was up to $27.04 per hour. My earnings went far here because my mortgage for a 3bd, 2bath newer house with 1,900 square feet of space was less than $400/month.
I am originally from CA, and I trained to become an LVN there. But the low pay rates and high cost of living caused me to flee from CA to another state where I could actually attain a middle-class standard of living with my earnings.
Sucks, not fair so if the raise goes up too 15 and we get payed 18 theres only 3 dollars differential for a person that studied i don't see that as good
I decided to do some fact-checking. After all, curious minds want to know.
California's minimum wage is nowhere near $15 per hour. It was $8/hour since 2008 and recently increased to $9/hour. It will increase another whopping dollar to $10/hour starting in 2016. Since CA is such a high cost-of-living state, this is not all that unreasonable.
