hi i heard of that school a few days ago i went in today filled the application and might take the test next week, the main that is bothering me its the tuition , its really high just for LPN, what do you think?

Yes,i think the tuition is too high also. Im looking into other schools with lower tuition.

did you take their entrance test? well the location is great, and the hours are great evening from 6 to 10 pm, and if you have other college credits(which i already have ) they will decreased the tuition and u will spend less time in school, and they offer financial aid with all kind of loans and sholarship and the test is untime. its one of my priorities, but like u im still keeping my options open.

No, I didn't take the entrance exam because i'm currently taking classes at Brooklyn College. Let me know how the exam and school is if you attend please.

Ok I might take the entrance on Thursday since I have one week off for spring break and it's free, I'll let you know how it goes.

I currently attend Mildred Elley. There are good things and bad things about the program.

A few things I like:

-I can attend on the weekend and still work during the week

-They split up the semesters into two "mods" so the course load is lessened.

-Lifetime job placement assistance

-The classes are a lot smaller than they would be at HVCC

-Very short if any waiting list

The bad:

-Things can be very unorganized at times.

-In order to add or drop classes you have to go through the program director. She used to be there a lot but is dropping down to part time and quitting.

-I don't feel like I was prepared for the intensity of the nursing program. I just finished my first mod of nursing classes and I barely passed. I previously had a 3.9 GPA. Nursing tests are very hard and require a different way of thinking. I don't feel my teacher prepared us for that. I now what I have to do for my next class and will study harder. We lost over half the class in this one class.

-When I enrolled it was never mentioned that the clinicals would be every weekend.

-They will accept ANYBODY. Some of the other students are not so nice, if you know what i mean. Several fights almost broke out. I have gone to other colleges and never experienced anything like this.

Overall I think it is an alright school. It's a good school for someone who had a hard time at other larger community colleges. The tuition is high but I think it may be that way all around. I did just get a letter saying they are not raising rates this year.

Good luck to you whatever you decide!

Thanks, that helped me out alot. I am trying to attend the new campus in new york city and it already seems unorganized and that they will accept anyone. My appointment is next week to bring in all forms and take the test and I am still undecided as to if I want to attend there. Thanks:):)
