Has anyone graduated from mildred elley's practical nursing program or knows if this is a good school?

I was interested in Mildred Elley because of the LPN program. Yesterday, which is a Friday I went there for an interview, and you know, just to get some more information on the place. Fast forward to the end of that day...All of sudden I'm enrolled as a medical assistant trying to transfer into the LPN program by March because I didn't have the grade to be a direct entry. If i didn't ask this adviser, I wouldn't have known that the classes start this Monday. My tuition is a little over $30k and its making me wonder if I should really attend knowing that I just took out a $20k loan that Ill have to pay over during the next ten years in addition to wanting to complete an LPN to RN degree afterwards.

Cant say whether or not I'd recommend someone else to come here but just beware.

Southern Westchester boces are accepting applications now for the LPN program that starts this August....you should look into it.

Thank you but I am at the NYC location. I dont think I could make it out there.

It's really not far...I commute from the Bronx

I live in Queens, I looked it up on google maps and my commute will take 3-4 hours :-(

Did it give you a metro North route...that should really cut that time down...I'm sure you can get a metro North train from Queens to Westchester

I really should've took your advice. Although I was already enrolled, any school has to be better than this one. NOT having a good experience.

Don't feel obligated...There are lots of other programs...Also check out Jersey college LPN program...They have a long program that starts on April but I believe there's an interest exam so check it out soon..

And Jersey college offers a LPN-RN Bridge program

Also Swboces are accepting applications for their next program that starts at the end of August

Oh gosh no! I don't feel obligated in ANY way. This is week two of me trying to get the loans canceled and they won't cancel it. I contacted the people issuing the loan and they refer me back to the financial aid office. Going up there today again. Here's a kicker…the person that I emailed the day before classes started telling her I'm skeptical of the school, who by the way never answered me, is who I have to speak to now.
