Midwestern State Fall 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone! I've become interested in applying for MWSU for Fall 2015, but I have yet to see any threads about it so I decided to start one myself! Could anyone help me with their point system?

Yeah i just wanted to make sure you knew. And good, she already calculated my points but that was before i was taking a wintermester class and another one of my classes is a 8 week class in the spring that ends before the application deadline so it will also give me extra points. So ill just probably drive up there and let her calculate my points again for me before I turn in my app. I want to stay in mustang village as well, I heard it was really good apartments! I didn't know it was all bills paid though! even better! Yeah once they send me my acceptance letter to the university I will apply for housing just in case just so I make sure I have somewhere to stay on campus. I dont want to stay off campus in a place I don't even know lol

Ya it's all bills paid, plus it's cheap too. I heard there's nothing in witchita falls, which I even like. Means no distraction, plus it's a nice place to get ones bsn and even masters. Are you planning on going for masters after bsn? Which class are you taking in the winter mester. Girl you are trying, I hate to take any class those short breaks. I prefer summer semester plus fall and spring . I have been doing all the summer semester since I started tcc 2012. Wow, excited next year would be the first time am not taking any class in the summer . I cant wait to get my hands on those applications. It's getting closer though. I believe more people would be on the thread late January, when it's getting really close to the application period.

I have a few friends who go to midwestern and they say they really like it down there. I am taking sociology, it so easy. It is a 12 day class, so you don't have time to forget anything and she grades easy! So its going to be an for sure A and once less class i have to worry about. This is actually my first time taking a class in wintermester, I usually prefer summer too. Im trying to have as many points as possible to get in on the first try. Yeah i would still have to take micro in the summer :( but thats in the first summer session so after I would be done with everything. I know right, I really just want it to be March and have it already turned in lol the wait is killing me because I'm so excited! Yeah it is coming up soon though because were almost half way through december, so March will be here in no time. Yeah I think so too, or when mid feb when the application actually opens

I think they have some shopping areas, a bowling alley, and like 2 movie theaters that are close to campus but that about it. oh and some nightclubs too lol. But who knows how much time we will actually have to spare

Ya I took sociology 2012 summer, was pretty easy. I don't just like to take classes those short breaks, but ya u need to get it done so I get y. We definitely won't have time to party. I myself don't party at all! Lol.. Am kind of a nerd sometimes, but that's just d way I am. Just pray I have time for my boyfriend too, coz he be in medical school aswell. Lord Jesus c us tru, I no we can do anything. Lol. I know I sound crazy right know.. I can't wait to get my hands on those applications. Am so excited and at same time, nervous about the wait. I can't wait for nursing school, am so excited to start another journey of my life.

Yeah I may go out like once a month down here lol if that. My two best friends went off to college so I only see them on breaks and I don't really hang out much with anybody else because I'm always at school or work. I get you, my friends call me a nerd too oh well! Oh yes medical school is no joke! where is he going? Yeah the wait after we turn in our application is what is going to be the stressful part! But im still excited and want to start nursing school so bad! I'm trying to see when i should apply to housing because they say that mustang village goes really fast and i want to make sure I have a spot? When were you going to apply for housing?

Ya I would be applying for housing, when I know my ranking. I emailed mrs Rudy my transcript and she told me I have 78 points. I asked her what is the max points a student can get and what is the highest points any student have gotten over the years. She told me max point is 86 and only one student has gotten 81 point and that has been the highest. So I said how can a student get those other points, cox I have completed all the classes they require and also I have only two B's on my transcript, with a 3.89 GPA. Unfortunately she didn't have an answer to that question. I think she made a mistake on my points, because according to my calculations I suppose to have 82 points. I would go turn in my application myself in February, so she can calculate it while am there. But I think my points are competitive enough though.

Yeah that what I'm doing but I have to wait until march when I finish my eight week class and I'll tour the campus and stuff. Oh 78 points is well beyond the usual cutoff, so you are definitely competitive. I know the cutoff last fall 2014 was 66 points and before that I think it was 65. So you will definitely get in, no problem! I will have between 66-68 points is what she told me, i still have pre-reqs in progress so only get one point for those :(. She said "In the past 5 yrs we have had applicants with 65 points and higher get in on the first try. Last semester the lowest we went to in points was 63.5. The semester before that it was 61.5 pts."

You should probably apply to housing as soon as possible because you are like guaranteed admission with those points. And housing fills up fast especially for mustang village is what I heard.

I believe you would get in. Anything is possible, and your points are high aswell. I would apply for housing as from March, I guess that should be early enough. I would try and contact them this week and get some information from them. I like Midwestern a lot, heard the instructors are really nice and actually care about students success.

Yeah I am keeping my hopes high, and hoping for the best. I'll be hopeful till the end, or atleast I am trying to be once i get my Hesi out of the way I probably fill better and fell even better when i can actually go down to the campus. I sent them an email earlier to ask about the deposit and cancellation. I think I will still apply to housing and send in my deposit in March as well just to be on the safe side because on their website for housing under FAQ it says you can cancel your application and get the 100 back as a refund if you cancel by a certain date. And we should know whether we got accepted into nursing program way before the cancellation date for housing, so just in case I don't make it I can always cancel the application and get my money back, I would just rather be safe than sorry. lol

Ya I would do that aswell, coz mustang village is the cheapest apartment plus it's really nice. Just that I don't think they have a private bedroom. Think you have to share with two other people. You would be fine, I believe that.
