Midwestern State Fall 2015

Hey everyone! I've become interested in applying for MWSU for Fall 2015, but I have yet to see any threads about it so I decided to start one myself! Could anyone help me with their point system?

@lorr19 yeah I really don't care about my roommates as long as they are clean but people who are in the nursing program would be helpful. I know, it so exciting now that it actual time for the decision to be made. The lady said that we probably would receive our aid notification on april 1st but it may be one or two days delayed because they were catching up on application because they had been getting them since january and didn't start to process them until mid february. I just want to know how much I will be getting so I can be prepared about how much have to spend out of pocket, but she did tell me I may be qualified for an exception so I could get more money because the job I have now i make a lot of money by myself alone but when I get down there I won't have that job so she said they may be able to take that into consideration to get me more aid.

And I finally got my Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship today, I'll be mailing that off tomorrow!

@keunnamonae application deadline finally off and the real wait begins. wow! exciting and cant wait to start calling. I hate dirt too and I hope they put me with roommates that know what cleanliness actually is. Dirt drives me nuts... I think you wont have problems receiving aids at all, You should be good. I want to save close to $10000 before starting in the fall, am almost close. Once I reach that I should be good for feeding. Financial aid would be covering my fees and possibly my rent, I already know that and the scholarship money gotten from MSU would be used for books. I would be applying for another scholarship in MSU by may. Deadline is in June, plus I would be receiving additional scholarship from the hospital I volunteer with. Am glad I wont be taking out loans, such a relief.

@lorr19 yes I am so glad the deadline is finally up, but I feel like this next month is going to be torture lol. Yeah I kind of have OCD when it comes to cleaning things.. I know I can probably get more scholarships but usually financial aid doesnt like to give me much atleast they didnt while I stilled lived at home, maybe it be different because I am going off to school now. Yeah thats why I want another job because my car had some problems so I had to spend some of the money I had already saved. So now I'm trying to build it back up quickly because we really only have 4 months until august. I am just praying that all the financial aid and scholarships at least cover my tuition & other fees, rent, and meal plan. My mom said if it can at least cover that she can easily pay for my books and like all the extra nursing stuff out of pocket. I just dont want any loans because I already have one for 3500. Hopefully the financial aid office lets us knowing something soon. Yeah I have found a couple scholarships to apply for as well

@keunnamonae ya I would try not to think of it too much so I can sleep well at night.lol. I just want to start calling after next week. I still live with my mom at home too, while in tcc then I was only working in school and not outside school. when I graduated, decided to get a job outside school that pays way better and now I work almost 10-12hrs almost everyday. Crazy schedule but I love what I do anyways. My mom can actually buy my books and pay for other expenses, I just don't want her to. I just love to be independent and get something's done my own without asking. Plus I have two other siblings in college she has to cater for. That's why am saving a lot so I don't have to bother her.

@lorr19 yeah I like it if she didn't have to but I'm sure we will be paying something out pocket now since she can't claim my brother anymore because he graduating this year so ill be the only one in college. I'm just saving just in case I don't get a job right away when I move that way Ill have spending money. But hopefully the time flies and before we know it will be end of the month

@keunnamonae I believe you would be just fine. Remember we got those two scholarship, plus you would another when you apply for them. Also, you might get financial aid, just keep being optimistic.

I just applied last week to the fall program I am so excited I only have 63 pts though so I'm a little nervous about that eek other than that I made an 84 overall composit on the English comprehensive part of the hesi exam and a 94 on the math my gpa is at a 3.0 so I hope I get in for the fall because I'm not to sure if after taking chemistry this semester I won't get a C in that class eek which would bring down my gpa. Catherine told me to clep intro to sociology instead of taking it in the summer and it will automatically give me 3 more pts so I'm studying for that now wish me luck fingers crossed!

Patho use to be ridicules here at msu but they won't let the old professor teach it anymore so I hear the new one is much better also I am from Wichita and also going to quit working in the fall but would love to show anyone around when you get here with Gods Grace we will all get into the program for the fall! Have faith God is good!

I hope you and all of us get in! Just keep being positive and the best will happen. We all have our fingers crossed. I cant wait until I can call and find out my rank and points again that will make me even more secure. I saw on other posts that they had to do fingerprints, I wonder when we would hear anything about that.

That would be great if you could really show us around. I went to take a tour of the campus but didn't really see the town and get to see where everything was. I dont even know what grocery store they have in wichita lol

Lol we have 3 walmarts a mall lots of shopping centers such as Kohl's Ross T.J. Maxx and we are soon to get a Burlington Coat Factory!!! So much more it's really not that small of a town also if you haven't already joined the Facebook page

i really want to start calling like soon, probably end of this month though. Financial aid has been awarded based on when you finished your fafsa. Check your myMWSU or Webworld.
