Hey, is anyone applying to the Fall 2020 cohort at Middle Georgia State University?? If so, do you all know any details or what to expect?

Once the deadline is here, Carla Higgs (nursing school administrator) reviews the applications as a first round of selection. She considers TEAS, GPA, withdraw patterns, and any other factors that apply. She then sends the list of students that qualify to the admissions committee (the professors) who sift through those applications and come up with a narrower list of applicants. Finally, the list is then reviewed for accuracy by either the department head or the dean of nursing. Let me know if you have any other questions, I may or may not be able to answer them. Keep your fingers crossed ?

What is your GPA & TEAS score? If you don't mind me asking.....

I don't mind! My GPA is 4.0 (so far) and my TEAS is an 82.7. They will also look at your subsection scores so don't worry if you did bad on the English portion (because I made like a 50 on that section!).
They used to have the average GPA and TEAS on the degree planning sheet, however, they stopped adding it this year, but I still had a copy from previous years.
For the ASN program (Fall 2018) the average TEAS was a 71% and the average GPA was a 3.05. Hopefully this helps you see where you stand. It changes from year to year, but my advisor told me herself that the program is not as competitive as other programs where you have to make like a 90 on the TEAS to even me considered.
For anyone applying to BSN, the average acceptance GPA for BSN Fall 2018 was a 3.47 and the average TEAS was a 75. Keep in mind that I was told that year by year the GPA is slightly increasing as the program becomes more well known, but this won't be a major change for this year. In addition, it is important to realize that the averages change every year and depend on how many people apply and their academics. Because MGA is not really a 4-year school people dream of going to for nursing, it is less competitive. However, the program has excellent NCLEX pass rates. The 2019 first time NCLEX pass rate was a 94.83. To put that into perspective, Emory's NCLEX pass rate for 2019 was only 96.26%. So while the program accepts students with worse grades, it knows how to teach students how to pass the NCLEX. And as a bonus instead of ending with 150K in debt, you can end up with only around 15-25K in debt if you get a loan for all of it! It does not matter how "good" the school is, all that matters is how the school prepares students to take the NCLEX.

My GPA is a 3.51 and my TEAS is an 86! I’m graduating from UGA in May and trying to go to MGA after!

Is the ASN deadline also February 15th?

Wow! Those are both nice combinations. I live right here in Athens as well...small world! Too bad UGA doesn't have a nursing program. It is kind of ridiculous actually because they could easily round up very passionate professors and students and have one of the best programs in Georgia!
The BSN and ASN deadlines are the same.
Sorry for some of the quotation mistakes I have made on this forum! Do you guys know anyone else applying to this program?
