I think it depends on the teacher. I personally had to work alot harder at micro than A and P.

At my school, Micro is considered waaay easier than A&P. Totally depends on how it's taught and how you handle the subject matter. It's like trying to compare Algebra and Geometry - Algebra was incredibly simple for me, but others found Geometry to be a piece of cake and I didn't so much.

I think, for me at least, micro was a lot less memorization than A&P I and II. I took micro as a three-week summer class (we were in class & lab around 6 hours/day) and the prof left out a lot of stuff so that's probably why I found it to be easier.

That's good you are able to take a class at a time exp. for the hard ones. can't answer your questions, but...if you need help with micro I have searched this site and found WONDERFUL information(notes) on micro. that could help you.

thank you

Micro has been, by and far, the easiest science class I've taken. I loved it though.. the teacher was awesome and the class was interesting.

I found AP2 to be a lot like AP1 as far as difficulty.. though I didn't care for 2 as much as 1... I was pretty much 'over' it by the end of the AP classes.

I loved Micro! I would take more classes at a higher level if they were offered at my school. I also found it to be easier and far more interesting than either A&P. A&P is very dry, IMO, whereas Micro really got down to the diseases and was more connected with real life, and made you realize, "eww, this is on the bottom of my purse!":lol2:

I found A&P 2 easier than 1. Mostly because I knew how to study from having had the first one, (so no wasting time trying to figure out how much time I needed to put in), better instructor, more interesting systems such as the cardiovascular, digestive, and endocrine v. the more mundane bones and muscles.

If you did fine in A&P 1, you'll be fine for the rest. A lot of info repeats as well. It's a lot of study, but never unmanagable, just annoying lol.

Good luck!

I found Micro easier to understand but more memorization -aaaaall those bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and aaaaall the diseases they cause, and aaaaall the symptoms, and aaaaaaall the treatments...you get the idea.:D

I found Microbiology considerably HARDER....A's on both A&P 1 / 2...but talking to my friends, I also had a very demanding teacher. Good luck ....and STUDY , STUDY, STUDY:up:

I took micro last semester w/out taking Anatomy first even tho it was strongly recommended. I ended up getting an A in the class, however. You need to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! And use lots of flash cards!! I spent probably 6 hours a week studying my flash cards. It was a bit tight w/ my schedule especially since I work, but I somehow pulled thru. Every one that I spoke to in my class that had already taken A & P, said that micro was a lot harder. It honestly depends on how you manage your time. I had no life last semester. My boyfriend was my only friend. I think it was worth it tho because I ended up doing so well. If you're going to be taking micro soon, just be prepared to buckle down.

Good luck!!

A&P certainly helps.. and my school it's a pre-requisite to Mico.

Yea, it definitely does. My teacher referred to A&P all the time. I had to study harder for it because of that.
