Mico bio or A&P

Published

the college that i go to has two drifferent way to take you biology classes to get into the nursing program. i was wondering what classes are easier or better for a nursing student? i can either take....

general microbiology and human biology 1 and 2

or

fundamentals of biology and anatomy & physiology 1 and 2

my adviser was helping me make a schedule just to get a idea of what my next year will look like and she put the 1st one. but i was thinking about taking the 2nd one because its offered near my house so i dont have to drive 30 min away and i hear alot of people on here taking about anatomy and physiology.

so if anyone could help me i really need it what way should i go or what classes did you take and where they really hard???

thanks!!

So your school doesn't require microbiology AND a&p? Or is this just about scheduling, like you'd take the first set one semester and the next set the following semester? That's just strange.

Most schools require A&P I&II and microbiology. When you are pursuing your BSN they also want to see these courses on top of more sciences such bio and chem to name a few prereqs.

No they said that i only have to take one of the two. Thats why i didnt know what one would be better because i hear on here everyone talking about they took A&P 1 and 2.

Both are pretty important, but I think it would be better to take a&p if you had to choose.

I would defineitly shoot for AP I AND II. You wont need everything they teach in it for nursing school, but the overall course material will be a great foundation for nursing school and beyond, plus you need them if you plan on getting a BSN. Secondly, like most others said microbiology is also always required as well, and im looking forward to taking it next semester. better off getting most of all your courses in now so you wont have so many when you go for your BSN, which most hospitals are requiring more and more these days. good luck.

I agree A&P I & II is what you should focus on. It builds a strong foundation for nursing.

Thanks everyone!!!

I think i am going to take A&P 1 and 2 like all f you said.

Make sure you check your teacher out because it can make a whole lot of difference.
