Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

Congratulations!!!!!

Did you get an email just now? Or last Thursday??

Thanks Maddymesa. Yes I got it last Thursday 10/16.?

Have you started the process and are you going to for face to face or online?

I saw the email late last night, and checked the steps. I have an appointment for the background check, and am creating the account with American data bank. They have a package of 225$ for student health record, it sounds good to me. I'll ca them on Monday to ask if an appointment is required.

I'm still undecided about which option I'm going for. I'm used to the face-to-face option; but I'm so tempted by the online one, since i live in Broward county.

Any thought on the online option please? Anyone?

I got into the BSN program but I just finished the bridge...what program are you applying to

What are the prerequisite classes u need before u apply to the bsn?

I got accepted into the bridge program. How was it? Assuming you're a LPN like me, were you able to work during schoo?

Hi Friend. Did you have to do a video for Fiu. I have heard you have to make one staying why you chose nursing ?

Hello,

No I did not. The video is for the generic nursing program. The accelerated program required an actual interview with the undergraduate adviser and a member of the nursing staff. So depending on the program you are applying to is whether you'll have to make a video or not. Good luck :)

You need all the regular prereqs for the AS program but you would have to complete microbiology lab plus have your license

Congrats...yes I too started out as a LPN. It was and experience to remember...try to form study groups early...the most difficult courses that a lot of my classmates fail is the Med-Surg and the Advanced Med-Surg course. I worked a full time job and went to school full time...don't let anyone scare you...as long as you do what you have to do you will be fine...I am a strictly A student biggest advice us don't get bummed out if you get a C because you are passing. Use your resources including YouTube for breakdown of material....Best if luck to you :)

I have a couple of friends that say you need discipline for online...I'm doing online because I work and don't have time to go to campus...

Hello guys, can any one tell me if any person they know got accepted to the generic full time with a GPA lower than 3.5 overall and science GPA 3.56. Because I was made to understand that they only accept people for f/t and p/t with GPA 4.0 to 3.7 in the first batch and in the second they will be working on people with 3.6 to 3.0. Which will be next week. I'm still waiting on my acceptance my GPA is 3.6 and 3.65....plz can anyone confirmed this information.

You're very welcome!
