Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

I am not going to check my email till the end of the month. I will wait, and continue to read the thread. Good luck, to you all.

Btw, broward college, sent their letter already. For those of you that applied, go check your email now

Thats awesome how is broward what do they require?

Like a lot of you, MDC is my first and only choice. Maybe putting all my eggs in one basket was not a wise decision but now I am just praying and hoping for the best. To be honest, I am not so concerned with my GPA as much as I am concerned about 'luck'. I am sure all applicants DO NOT have 4.0's and their acceptance pool consists of GPA's across the spectrum. We all have a fair chance!! Hopefully just a few more days and we will know!

Yeah I also see it by luck and they say less applicants apply for spring but I doubt it I think a lot did apply but let's keep our hopes and think positive...

Guys i need an advise. Should i apply part time too just in case ? I want full time but I don't care if it will take me 2 years part time with MDC. Its better than 2 years at a private school and the price of a mortgage. What do you think. Should I apply for both ?

I dont know what to tell you but in my case It was not an option. I didnt want to spend 2 years with only an associate degree, i rather pay all that money in a private and graduate with a bachelors degree in the same amount of time. Its up to you but just let you know my opinion.

Lili. Thanks for sharing your options. In my case I can't bc I already have a student loan from a previous school. I went to FNC and decided not to finish and go back to MDC. I'm still paying for the time I was there. I previously studied Ultrasound. I'm praying to be accepted.

one more week !!!!!

It all depends on your circumstances. For example, I am mother of two, my youngest is just 5 months, I can't go full time because of the economical burden it will place on my family (child care expenses are awful!). I REFUSE to take out a loan and have to deal with paying off debt after I graduate. I rather do the old fashion save and pay my way through school than be a new grad RN working to pay off loans, but that's just me. Do what is best for you. The end goal is to achieve your dream of becoming an RN no matter how long it takes. Wish you the best BLNurse!
