Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

Hi everyone. I'm so glad to have found this forum here. Just a bit concerned now since I read about the orientation dates in November. Does anyone know if they ever make any exceptions for people who cannot attend it? I cannot imagine that there are never people who just simply cannot attend due to prior commitments. My problem is I still work full time until the program starts and I have a business trip over those dates that I can't get out of... :-/. ugh.

If you don't attend the Orientation, most likely they would not let you register for the program. My suggestion is that you need to change whatever obligation you have for that day. They are really strict with attendance in the Nursing Program.

You want to apply to fall 2015? If so the applications are due on May 1st I believe. So there is no much rush to apply, also I don't think they will take an application so ahead of time but you can always check.

Thanks Eru. Yes I'm applying for fall 2015 bc I'm currently taking my last class which is Intro to Health Care. Thanks for your reply. I will have to pass by and ask them when will the officially start accepting application for Fall 2015.

Hi Blnurse, Im glad to hear that you are almost done with your pre-requisites and I recomend you to apply at least around the last days of March or beginning of April since the deadline is May 1st. I only hope they dont put any new entrance exam. Good luck and soon you will be in our position of waiting for that letter that everybody is waiting.

Hi All,

I know I shouldn't be saying this because it just adds to our anxiety, but if MDC follows their previous schedules over the years for sending out emails then that means that the first round of emails will be going out the third Thursday of October which is the 16th I think

Hello Everyone!

Good Luck to all of us on this exciting and nerve wrecking journey. I called MDC this morning and they told me they would be sending out the first acceptance emails late October/ early November, however, it is recommended to check my email daily starting tomorrow. Hopefully, it'll be sooner than later! *Fingers crossed*

Asking in person would be your best option, but wait until you get accepted, if not they will probably not pay attention to what you have to say.
