Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

What program will you all be applying to? I am applying to the Full-time Generic @ Hmstd.

I will apply for generic full time and part time miami

Hi everyone :) I'm new to this but has anyone applied yet to the pogram?

So no more nln but I'm scare at the same time cause I have 3.1 my overall gpa and 3.1 science :(

Hi yuremaa! Please don't be scared. I am a strong believer in whatever is meant to be will be. We should all just try to relax (easier said than done, I know) and support one another. I have the lowest cum gpa so far, with a 2.84 (I made some bad choices early on in my college career), but I have a natural science gpa of 3.53. I thought it was higher the other day, but unfortunately I made a mistake when I calculated it. At first, I was freaking out about the removal of the exam because I was planning to try and compensate with the NLN somewhat; that option doesn't exist anymore.

I was trying to figure out how the school is going to come up with one score, you know like how they did with the TEAS before? There was a formula to determine one final score. All I could figure out was that they would take the percentage of each and add them together. Sounds logical, right?

At this point, all we can do is apply and think positive. My friend applied today, and she was told by the advisor she met with, that she was the first to apply thus far. Advisors at MDC still aren't all on the same page yet, as this decision (to remove the entrance exam) was made this week. Anyway, I hope you are not beating yourself up at this point. All of us are on this thread because we are the type of students who care. That I think speaks for itself.

Sorry for the long post. I guess I needed to release some energy :) Oh and by the way, which program will you apply for?

That is so true whats meant to be its meant to be, I'm thinking positive and I hope that we all can get in I should be applying next week and just looking forward October and see my acceptance Letter at this time all we can do is apply and think positive , I think I'm still going to study the teas and apply to other schools as a back up plan.

Not a bad idea at all, yuremaa. What program will you apply for?

I'm applying for genetic full time cause an adviser told me that there is no part time in spring

Homestead or Medical Campus?

Wow yuremaa, looks like if all goes as planned, we will be starting school together! :)

From what I hear .....we dont choose the campus instead it depends on our zip code...My zip code is 33176 so i guess that would place me at the homestead campus...I plan to apply for the generic full time...
