Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

I would apply to Barry too, but I have to finish my AA first. Thank you, keep us informed.

Do you know if we can apply to different Campus I'm also considering homestead even though I live 1hr away.

You cant apply directly to the Homestead campus. They place you according to your zip code once you are accepted. When you get your acceptance letter it states which campus you will be attending

Ok, I found another thread that states the same as the other as far as how MDC will calculate the GPAs. I am super relieved, because if this is true, I have a cum GPA of 3.61 and natural science of 3.53. I was taking into account all of the classes I had taken for my previous major as far back as 1997. I even saw an advisor at Hmstd, and she didn't even clear that up for me. Now I have to pass the computer test and I can apply :) I don't know what this means in terms of getting accepted, but I feel soooo much better!!!

I took all of the natural science pre-req's (as we all already knew), and then I excluded all of the pre-dental classes I had taken (CHM 1045, BOT 1010, etc.) and only used the general education courses that the nursing website stated were going to be used for the selection criteria.
