Good morning/night to all who are reading this,
I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).
Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

You can see your financial aid on the Miami dade website. Log in and then go to financial aid awards and it should be there. If not then try calling the school. On your schedule it will come out right alway.
It just depends when you applied for financial aid.
I applied in like February so I had already my award approved for next semester.
I think this is my last semester with financial aid.

With that attitude you are gonna get a big surprise when next semester you start having less choice, and in the 3rd there is only 1 class for the whole sequence, and you have to take it the days they want. Everybody has a life, we know that, but this is MDC it comes with sacrifices for the price. If you want better choices, they will direct you, with a smile in the face, towards the private 20K per year schools.

I was prudent and picked class from the sequence I was given, but how would they know what sequence was for who?

You are not locked in a sequence, but all classes should belong to the same sequence. It may work this time, but next semester if you mix there will be schedule conflicts most likely. The system wont let you register.

I think you might be confused.
I think during orientation they were split into 2 groups and they were told to only choose from those classes that they were given (on the paper that they received) but when you go to register for classes it shows you all the different professors/scheduled days and times per class.
if youre in the generic full time you register the first semester for
NUR1025
NUR1025C
NUR1025L
NUR1142
NUR1060C
which is what everyone is actually talking about. Not about choosing other classes from different semesters. They just mean day/professor and times for these specific classes.

I think you are confused. I never mentioned classes from different semesters. You don't have to follow what they divided you into, but you still need to register in one of the 2 sequences. Look I am not gonna sit here and explain how it works, thats what orientation was for.
All I am saying is get used to getting all your classes from the same sequence ( there is 2 sequences for the fulltime generic, one for AO, and one for Partime, I think homestead students only have 1 sequence for the fulltime) You need this because if you pick and choose from different sequences, you will have a schedule conflict.
Just register and good luck on your first semester. Word of of advise, buy the Green HESI Book.
