Miami Dade College Nursing Spring 2019

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start this topic for us students applying at MDC Nursing for the Spring 2019 semester. There's an existing one but it's from 2017.

So here's a little about me. I took my Hesi yesterday and I scored 80%. My Science GPA is 3.6. My overall competitive score is 84%. I applied for the Full Time Generic and the Accelerated programs. My preference is full time generic but I can do either one. I feel good about this and I know I will be starting nursing school in January (I don't really know but I'm putting it out there. POSITIVITY!)

I'm really excited about this and I can't wait to start. Worst part is the waiting to find out. In the meantime, I'm looking at all the information necessary post admission so that I'm ready to roll once I get my letter.

Good luck to all who applied!

Hi y'all, I was accepted into the Nursing program for generic fulltime.

Where did you guys complete your CPR/BLS training? I'm looking to compare prices.

Hi! Congrats. I did mine at Miami CPR - The Nursing Station | 1 Hour BLS Class Everyday

They charge $85.

Thanks!

And this Miami CPR was American Heart Association approved?

Yes. My card says American heart association.

Thanks for answering that question. I would rather do an hr course instead of MDC 6 hr course for that CPR/BLS.

Agreed. No problem ?

Hello, I got accepted into the Accelerated Option for an ASN for Spring 2019! Anyone else out there decide to go this route?

Also, congrats to everyone. I also interviewed with FIU for the accelerated option but I got put on the waiting list /:

Anywho, hope to see you all soon!

Congrats! I was accepted into accelerated and generic but I'm choosing generic.

For the BSN? I considered it but it's a bit pricey.

Yes for the BSN. The students who got accepted have until Friday to turn in their decision and then if any spots open up, they are offered to the waitlisted students.

I wonder if the accelerated students will have classes with the generic program students. Maybe we will have classes together.

Yes some do. I'm at the homestead campus though. Accelerated students are housed at medical. We have a group chat that you can join. What's your number?

Hi everyone, I got accepted into Generic Homestead Program. So excited, quick question which probably has been asked, sorry if it sounds dumb, how do we register or pick our nursing classes? Is it after orientation?
