Miami Dade College Nursing Spring 2019

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start this topic for us students applying at MDC Nursing for the Spring 2019 semester. There's an existing one but it's from 2017.

So here's a little about me. I took my Hesi yesterday and I scored 80%. My Science GPA is 3.6. My overall competitive score is 84%. I applied for the Full Time Generic and the Accelerated programs. My preference is full time generic but I can do either one. I feel good about this and I know I will be starting nursing school in January (I don't really know but I'm putting it out there. POSITIVITY!)

I'm really excited about this and I can't wait to start. Worst part is the waiting to find out. In the meantime, I'm looking at all the information necessary post admission so that I'm ready to roll once I get my letter.

Good luck to all who applied!

Hey everyone my name is nicole and I applied for only accelerated 2019 ... I hope to see you all there... my science GPA is 3.6 and my hesi 86, I plan on working one day a week for the first half of the accelerated. I'm so anxious to hear if I got in or not. The mdc profile says ACCELERATED PRESELECT but that's all I see no updates as of yet. I plan on finding a roommate to afford living expenses.

There is no scholarship that I know of for the accelerated program only the generic.

Possible scholarships for generic program are

HCA hospitals

Baptist health

I'm not sure what others... but the program is only 8k so I'm fine with paying that and applying to jackson hospital which is my dream job

Hi Nicole! Welcome!

You have very high scores, I'm sure you will make it. I applied for both full time generic and accelerated but I will like to get into the Generic so I can apply for the baptist scholarship.

My profile says the same thing, accelerated preselect, but thats because I had to choose that for my major.

I'm so excited to hear back!

Found it. Thank you so much!

Career source in broward offers a scholarship for broward residents who attend MDC. Look it up. Unfortunately I live in Homestead.

Awesome I'll look them up!! Thank you as well!!

Has anyone applied to other programs like Nova or FIU? If so, have you received your acceptance?

ORIENTATION DATES FROM THE ADMISSIONS WEBSITE

Accelerated Option: November 9

Generic Full-Time - Medical Campus: November 6 for last names A-L and November 7 for last names M-Z

Generic Full-Time - Homestead Campus: November 8

Bridge Full-Time - November 8

Bridge Part-Time - November 8

Medical Campus students were divided into 2 sessions which leads me to believe that they accepted more students than usual?

Looking through previous threads, students had about a month from the time they were accepted until orientation. I hope that means we get an answer this week.

Hey!! Thanks for the info!!! Sorry I've been M.I.A. just been working!!! I'm so nervous!!!
