Miami Dade College Nursing Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start this topic for us students applying at MDC Nursing for the Spring 2019 semester. There's an existing one but it's from 2017.

So here's a little about me. I took my Hesi yesterday and I scored 80%. My Science GPA is 3.6. My overall competitive score is 84%. I applied for the Full Time Generic and the Accelerated programs. My preference is full time generic but I can do either one. I feel good about this and I know I will be starting nursing school in January (I don't really know but I'm putting it out there. POSITIVITY!)

I'm really excited about this and I can't wait to start. Worst part is the waiting to find out. In the meantime, I'm looking at all the information necessary post admission so that I'm ready to roll once I get my letter.

Good luck to all who applied!

Are you taking out loans ?

No, I don't qualify for loans. I maxed out as I already hold a masters degree. I'm applying, hoping and praying for scholarships.

I don't think I would be awarded enough to pay for my living expenses. I've considered private loans. Have you?

I have but I'm still paying off my other loans. So for now I'll have to focus on getting scholarships. As far as living expenses, my husband will be responsible for finances in the meantime.

Heyyyyy guys! I also applied for full-time generic and the accelerated option! My HESI score is 79.4%!! I really want to be accepted in the accelerated option but to be honest I just want to get accepted! How can I calculate my science gpa?! BTW GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

Hi! Great score!

To calculate, add your grade equivalents then decide by the number of science classes (should be 7).

A=4, B=3.....

Hi Nic!

I know we should get acceptance letters mid October. Orientation is in November. Once accepted there are a series of things that must be completed before orientation. Health check up, vaccines, background checks, CPR cert...

Until then, we wait

WhatsApp sounds good!

Thank you!!!

I was told by advisement yesterday that the first set of acceptance emails will go out the week of October 1!!!!

That's so soon!

YES! I can't wait!

That is so soon! I can only hope that its true!
