Hey everyone,
I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.
I will start:
I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)
Hello Everyone,I will be applying for the Fall Generic program. I have a 4.0 gpa and received a 76 on my teas so my total
entrance score is 85.18. I'm wondering if I should take the teas 2nd attempt.Just wanted some opinions on
my scores and recent cut off totals. Thank you.
Hi Angel,
You have a great GPA and a good TEAS score.....however I would recommend taking it again as I hear with MDC that the average cutoff for the TEAS is around 80. Again, this all depends on the applicant pool. But if you're able to, I personally would take it again and try to break that 80 threshold.
Good luck!
I have a 3.6 gpa and my teas score was a 72(which is horrible). I can't take it another time until July. I am also trying to apply to dade medical college has anyone looked into that program or heard of anyone in it??
Hi Emmunoz,
I think everyone one this thread is applying to Dade Medical College. For the nursing program, there are 3 different tracks, Accelerated, Generic Full-time, and Generic Part-time. It's a tough program but definitely doable. Which track did you apply for?
Hi mjl88,I applied for the part time program so I could still work since I do not qualify for financial aid.
I did apply for Dade Medical College its another school that starts nursing programs almost every month. It is seperate from MDC I was just wondering if anyone had heard of it...
Hey Emmunoz,
I'm sorry, I have heard of Dade Medical College but I don't know anything about it. I just read it quick and thought you meant Miami Dade college lol.
I've already turned in my apps for all 3 programs (accelerated, generic full time, and generic part time) at MDC. I'm not sure of my overall science GPA as I'm finishing A&P I & II, labs, and Micro next week. I have A's in all as far as I can tell at this point though. I did get an 86.7 on the TEAS, and am not planning to take it again at this point. Now it's just a waiting game. Good luck to us all, and hopefully we find out soon!!!
Thank you mjl88.I will take the teas again next week. I ran out of time in the reading and
guessed 11 questions. That won't happen again. It was a stupid time
maintenance problem. Got it next
week and am sure I can get an 80 at least this time around. How are
your scores??
My score is 85.3% w/ about a 3.75 GPA.
Good luck and let us know how you do next week :)

Hey Emmunoz, the way I figured is A=4 points, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. Add up all the points for your science classes (so an "A" in a 3 credit course would be 12 points) and divide by the total credits of science classes.
If you don't mind, could you share your grades/GPA and your TEAS score?? Also what track you're applying to? That way it gives an idea to others out there in the same boat.
Thanks!
