Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

It wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be. BUT the A&p questions were mind boggling I was so scared I failed that portion but I ended up with a 98 for that section and a total of an 86. Study lots of fractions improper and mixed, you're going to have a very little calculator on each question that you may use. Study quarts and cups I suggest googling the "big g method for quarts and cups" and clicking on the first link best way to remember.

Reading and grammar if English is your first language you should be okay. But still study some reading comprehension exercises especially main idea some of the questions can be just a tad tricky there. If you have a smartphone download the HESI practice apps so you can study all the time.

Omg thank you so much for that info. I guess at MDC there is no calculator allowed but anyways thank you for your feed I need to schedule my Exam. I'm going to order my book at Amazon and start studying. Bc the wait is over for acceptance letter at MDC, if we haven't received nothing as of today is time to move on.

I called today in the afternoon. The guy told me they should be sending emails out all next week. He said he knows they're not done sending all the acceptances. I asked him how are they sent? is it random or any other way? He said pretty much random.

im doing the comeback. i messed up in nursing school because the bsn is very intense. you gotta take pathophysiology and etc. and yeah barry has no entrance exam. but to be accepted you need a high gpa. anything over 3.5

Hopefully that's a small ray of hope for some because when I called I spoke to both advisement and the nursing department and they told me the opposite. I was told that the last set of acceptance emails were already sent out this week and that the remaining applicants would receive their rejection emails by the end of next week.

3.05 science 😭

No dear friend. Next week Es the las week then follow by rejections letters

Congratulations Rene. That's great. Are you going to accept Broward ? I live in Miami by Dolphin Mall by I don't mind driving to Pembroke. I believe that's where the south campus is located. I'm definitely applying at Broward too. For son reasons I don't have a good feeling with MDC. We are only a week away to receive rejections letters.

I live by dolphin mall too! we should get together and study for hesi

Hello my name is Elizabeth I applied as well to the fall 2015 program. I haven't heard anything back. My All cum is a 3.6 I got accepted last year to Barry but I turned it down. I also applied to Nova and was called right away for an interview. I regret not going. I think that MDC is just a lottery and at this point it's in gods hands! I am a Certified nursing assistant but I don't even think they care. I think that those of you who don't get in should not apply there anymore take your skills and abilities to a school that will help you out!
